The U.S. Sustainable Land Imaging (SLI) program will enable the development of a multi-decade, spaceborne system that will provide users worldwide with high-quality, global, land-imaging measurements that are compatible with the existing 44-year Landsat data record.
Landsat 9 is the latest satellite in the Landsat series—it will continue Landsat’s irreplaceable record of Earth’s land surface upon its spring 2021 launch.
To reduce the build time and a risk of a gap in observations, Landsat 9 will largely replicate its predecessor Landsat 8.

🌎🌳روز جهانی زمین شناس مبارک🌳🌍

اولین یکشنبه ماه آوریل روز جهانی زمین شناس نامیده می شود. این مناسبت رسمی در اتحاد جماهیر شوروی در سال ۱۹۸۰ بنیان گذاری شد، اما پس از فروپاشی اتحاد جماهیر شوروی این سنت جشن روز زمین شناس، فراموش نشد. امروزه این جشنواره در روسیه، اوکراین، بلاروس قرقیزستان و قزاقستان برگزار می شود.
روز زمین شناسان تحت نظر گروهی از زمین شناسان برجسته شوروی، تحت رهبری آکادمی Alexander Yanshin ، تاسیس شد. اولین بار کشف ذخایر نفت و گاز استان اوهایو سیبری در سال ۱۹۶۶ منجربه ایجاد این تعطیلات شد. سپس زمین شناسان درخواست خود را به دولت اعطا کردند که به فرمان هیئت نمایندگی شورای عالی در تاریخ ۳۱ مارس ۱۹۶۶ مورد تایید قرار گرفت.
تاریخ این تعطیلات به طور تصادفی انتخاب نشده است بلکه این پایان زمستان و آغاز آماده سازی برای کارهای تابستانی همچنین شروع عملیات صحرایی می باشد. روز زمین شناسی به طور سنتی توسط تمام سازمان های زمین شناسی و معدنی جشن گرفته می شود.(منبع : ugsi.ir)

The LandLook Viewer is a prototype tool that was developed to allow rapid online viewing and access to the USGS Landsat Collection 1 and Sentinel-2 image archives. This viewer allows you to:

Interactively explore the Landsat Collection 1 and Sentinel-2 archives at up to full resolution directly from a common Web browser

Search for specific Landsat Collection 1 and Sentinel-2 images based on area of interest, acquisition date, or cloud cover

Compare Landsat Collection 1 and Sentinel-2 image features and view changes through time

Display configurable map information layers in combination with Landsat Collection 1 and Sentinel-2 imagery

Create a customized image display and export as a simple graphic file

View metadata and download the full-band source imagery

The Sentinel-2 imagery displayed in the viewer is a simulated natural color composite image created from three selected bands (11, 8A, 4) with a ground resolution of 20 meters.

Search by address or place, or zoom to a point, bounding box, or Sentinel-2 Tile or Landsat WRS-1 or WRS-2 Path/Row

Generate and download a video animation of the oldest to newest images displayed in the viewer
