Given the track record of "utility tokens" in DeFi often collapsing into pure speculation, what concrete, non speculative actions must a user take on your platform to earn or benefit from the token, and how do you structurally prevent it from becoming just another farm and dump asset?

Here’s the simple answer:

🔥 $8LNDS isn't our main product.

In most DeFi projects, the token is the product. In our case, it isn’t.

We’re not building everything around the token, and we’re not trying to extract value from it. The core of 8lends is investing in real businesses.

$8LNDS is an add-on to those investments — a bonus you earn for participating, which will be gradually integrated into the ecosystem.

The Story of Borrower: Gold Car Rental 🚗

Today we’re launching a new type of post where we tell you more about the companies we list on 8lends — how we met, how the listing went, and what’s happening with the project right now.

And we’re starting with Gold Car Rental! 🔥

It was a warm day at the Crypto Gathering conference. Our Co-founder went there to meet some crypto people and have a few casual chats with like-minded folks.

He met people from all over the world — most conversations were pretty interesting, but one really stood out. He met a guy who’s been running a car rental business in Dubai since 2022!
Which was a funny coincidence, considering the conference was all about crypto! Just shows how far the space has expanded — even non-crypto founders are getting curious. But... that’s a story for another post.

The CEO of Gold Car Rental told him about his business. Everything was running smoothly, but he wanted to scale — specifically, buy 10 Mercedes-Benz Vito Business 2023 vehicles and fulfill their contract with Dutco Travel & Tourism LLC.
He tried going through a local bank but gave up quickly: tons of paperwork and, in his opinion, unfair terms.

That’s when our Co-founder’s spidey sense kicked in — he told him about 8lends and how we make this whole process way easier!

Fast forward a few weeks, they jumped on a call. We ran due diligence, checked everything, and on June 20, we listed Gold Car Rental on our platform.

Right now, Gold Car Rental is raising €511,000 on 8lends:

A missed opportunity isn’t a mistake

Didn’t manage to start a project or change a job? That’s not a reason to blame yourself. Mistakes help show where exactly we’re lagging.

Try looking at it from another angle: not “I missed so much!” but “Why did I miss it in the first place?”

In most cases, the reasons are the same:

🔘 Delayed a decision
🔘 Waited for a right moment
🔘 Waited for approval from someone else
🔘 Didn’t take the first step

If you don’t identify the reason behind your mistakes, they’ll repeat over and over again.
