Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, has stated that they would back the WAQF Bill as it aimed to protect Waqf land from mafias.

He added that the amended bill would protect the interests
of poor Muslims & orphaned children and at the same time effectively combat Waqf Board's arbitrary actions.

He further opined that their elders established Waqf land to help the poor. However, owing to rampant coruption there is huge loss.
