Guilty pleasure: creative task

Within 20 minutes your team must find a guilty pleasure which seemingly causes problems in life. Turn the table! Make it look like it's a thing everybody should start doing. Think about pros and cons of the chosen guilty pleasure and prepare a presentation or an ad out of it.

When everybody is ready, each team "pitches" its chosen guilty pleasure to others.

Example

Are you tired of having a healthy attention span? Do peaceful evenings make you uncomfortable? Do you secretly wish your brain processed 67 pieces of information per minute? Try DOOMSCROLLINGβ„’ β€” the revolutionary lifestyle choice for modern people!

Why read a book when you can absorb 43 contradictory opinions, 12 conspiracy theories, and breaking news from three continents before midnight?

With Doomscrollingβ„’, you can:

- Turn minor concerns into exciting global catastrophes!
- Become an expert on topics you discovered 11 seconds ago!
- Feel productive without technically doing anything!
- Train your brain to expect danger at all times!
- Develop lightning-fast thumb reflexes!

Testimonials (team members can play along)

β€œIt's been only a month of doomscrolling and now my standards for happiness are unrealistically high.”
β€” Alex, 28

β€œAfter only two weeks of doomscrolling, I became an expert in economics, climate change, celebrity divorces, and ancient Roman history.”
β€” Daniel, 31

Doomscrollingβ„’ -- peace of mind is just one post away. Probably.

It's not necessary to follow this example, but it may give you some ideas!

A biiiig announcement :) Those who have been visiting our meetings lately know that I'm very deeply pregnant and will be having my very first baby next month πŸ‘ΆπŸ» I'm excited about it but I'd never leave my other baby (more of a teenager already ;)) - my ESC NN - the English Speaking Club which I created almost 12 and a half years ago.

This Sunday I'll be hosting my final (for now ;)) meeting and then Andrey will take over ;) He's one of our regular members, who's very passionate about the club, about English practice and meeting you all ;)) He lived in Serbia for 3 years - it's fascinating to hear him talk about his experience 🫰🏼 He's in IT and, fortunately for me, likes to get out of his comfort zone πŸ™πŸ½ Andrey has already hosted a few meetings and I really enjoyed how he organized and managed everything! I'm sure you'll enjoy it too!

Remember that the club exists and prospers thanks to you!!! Let's keep getting together and having our English fun by chatting, discussing different topics, laughing (and sometimes crying), playing games and doing creative tasks ❀ Cause together we're strong (and staying sane ;))

Yours always,
Natasha
πŸŽŠπŸŽ‰

P.S. Let's choose this Sunday's topic, please!?!? πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
