USDJPY robots for Asian-session traders

If you trade USDJPY around Tokyo hours, this page saves time. It groups eight MT5 picks for 2026, from $0 to $1299, so you can compare a free start with premium options in one place.

The angle is practical: BoJ policy reactions, carry-trade dynamics, and the market conditions yen traders actually watch. If that matches how you trade, this shortlist makes the first filter much easier.

πŸ’Ž Every strategy looks good until it meets your broker.

That's the part nobody sells you. A robot is a file, tuned on someone else's spread, someone else's fills, someone else's balance. It backtests beautifully and quietly decays in your account β€” and no one tells you why.

We build the other half.

Parameters are resolved for your account, your broker, your instrument. Position size comes from your balance and what a point is really worth on your symbol. Entries are checked against your live spread and expected slippage. Stops are fitted to what your broker will accept. And if your broker starts filling badly, the robot pauses itself rather than feed orders into bad conditions.

We've just finished moving the entire platform to new infrastructure. Along the way we found a defect of our own, published it, and fixed it β€” installations now repair themselves. That's the part we'd rather be judged on.

This Sunday, I’m wrapping the week quietly but with real progress behind it.

We’re now at 589 verified accounts, and I don’t take that lightly. I’ve spent the last stretch pushing a cleaner installer, tighter bot logic, stronger capital protection, and a prepared Smart Money AI bot, with more testing still ahead.

Our weekly ratings and leaderboard publish on the public rating page this weekend. Review your own week, keep what worked, and get ready for Monday.

Volatility is the key number behind many trading choices

Volatility means how much and how fast price moves over time. When it rises, the same trade can need a wider stop or a smaller position; when it falls, those choices can be tighter.

A simple example: position sizing should account for the instrument's current volatility. If you want the plain-language glossary entry, see the full guide.

FxRobotEasy 2.9.5 β€” three days, no new features, only bugs.

The one I owe you an explanation for: the app asked you to update the
same bot every ten minutes, for months. My first theory was MetaTrader
locking files. It was wrong β€” customers saw it with MT5 closed. The real
cause was the app comparing a record in its own registry instead of
reading the version file on disk, so it believed forever that it was
behind. "Close MT5 and retry" could never have fixed that.

Also fixed in this release:

β€’ Reinstall was rebuilding portable installations from our built-in image
and deleting your own MetaTrader β€” your broker, your servers, your
licence file. That link is now recorded, and the app refuses rather
than substituting our build for yours.
β€’ A portable folder you deleted came back as an empty shell and was
reported as updated.
β€’ A partial update was reported as complete success.
β€’ Accounts created through Telegram have no password, yet were shown the
password form as the main way in. The app now says so plainly.
β€’ Telemetry carried an identifier built from your account number and
broker server. Removed, blocked, and purged from stored records.

Update: FxRobotEasy β†’ Check for updates. One minute, bots keep trading.
Bots stay on 11.27 β€” only the app changes.

A losing trade should not get bigger just because hope does

The AI’s decision flow is simple: Loss, No double-down, Fixed risk, Survive.

That means when a thesis is failing, it does not add exposure to chase a recovery. Averaging down can turn a normal losing streak into a much larger drawdown, and martingale’s smooth equity can be borrowed against a future blow-up.

The key idea: a signal is only useful when the risk rule protects capital. Read the explanation.

A large list can still crowd the same trade idea. The useful check is correlation: compare overlapping instruments and sessions, then measure combined exposure, not label count.

That matters because 69% of accounts were profitable, while the median max drawdown was 13. Even the featured XAUUSD result at 13.96% weekly with 11.7% drawdown is only one piece. Past performance β‰  future results. Capital at risk. Review the current details.

πŸ”§ Update 11.28 β€” the bug that made robots go quiet without telling anyone

Some of your robots have been sitting on the chart doing nothing. Not crashing, not disconnecting β€” just quietly not trading. This release fixes that, and the story behind it is worth two minutes of your time.

The symptom

A chart looks completely healthy. The terminal is online. The panel says "reconnecting" and keeps saying it β€” for hours. Meanwhile the chart next to it, same terminal, same account, trades normally.

At its worst this affected 199 of 542 live Terminals β€” 37% of everything running. Eighteen accounts had robots that hadn't opened a position all day.

Why nobody spotted it sooner

Because every dashboard said everything was fine.

The AI node was serving all 36 symbols the entire time, 16–300 ms fresh. The TCP connection was alive β€” one of the stuck charts had been connected for 27 hours straight while reporting "reconnecting". And our own connection counters read zero across the whole fleet, so there was nothing to alert on.

The robot wasn't lying. It genuinely never received a single quote.

What was actually happening

All charts in one terminal share a single connection to the Ai node. Not one connection per chart β€” one per terminal, with each chart holding its own queue inside.

The first chart to start decides which node address the whole terminal uses. Every chart that connects afterwards has to present a matching address. And if it didn't match β€” even by something as cosmetic as a DNS name where the first chart used an IP β€” it was turned away.

The problem was *where* it was turned away: one step before the call that subscribes a chart to the tick stream. So the chart was attached to a healthy connection and simultaneously subscribed to nothing. Retrying couldn't help β€” every retry sent the same address and got the same refusal. It would have kept trying forever.

Why it started when it did

This flaw sat harmless in the code for a long time. Before we moved to a DNS-based node registry, every chart dialled the same built-in address, so the addresses always matched and the trap never sprang. The registry made them diverge β€” a name from one source, an IP from another β€” and charts began falling into it.

That is on us. The registry was the right move; we didn't see what it would expose.

What 11.28 changes

βœ… A late-joining chart now attaches to the stream instead of being refused. There is only one connection per terminal anyway, so a chart's address preference was never something we could honour β€” refusing it only starved it.

βœ… All charts now open with the same address. The startup order was fixed so the node registry is read before the first connection, which removes the mismatch at the source.

βœ… Terminals still on the old connector repair themselves. A chart that has taken zero ticks while the shared connection is alive rebuilds its transport instead of retrying into the void.

βœ… Connection diagnostics report real numbers. Traffic and tick counters had been zero fleet-wide β€” the robot and the server were using different names for the same fields. 44,048 telemetry records of pure zeros; now actual data. This class of fault will be visible from now on.

What you need to do

1️⃣ Open FxRobotEasy β†’ Check for updates
2️⃣ Restart MetaTrader afterwards β€” the connection component only loads when the terminal starts. Skip this and you get half the fix.

Not sure whether it hit you? Look for a chart that's been open for hours without a single trade. That's the one.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» From the developer β€” where Cryptology AI stands

I said I'd ship Cryptology AI this week. I didn't. Here's the honest account of where the week went.

First: the installer. I spent the early part of the week hunting bugs in it β€” including the one where it kept insisting you were up to date while offering the same update every ten minutes. That class of problem is corrosive: it teaches you to ignore update prompts, and then a real one goes unnoticed. I wanted every non-obvious failure handled properly rather than patched over.

Then: DNS. Moving to the node registry exposed a flaw that had been sitting quietly in the connector β€” charts that attached to a healthy connection but were never subscribed to the broker quote stream. At its worst it was 37% of live charts, and it was invisible from every dashboard we had. That became 11.28, and it had to jump the queue. A robot that silently stops trading is worse than one that visibly fails.

Where Cryptology actually is

Not vapourware β€” most of it is built:

β€’ a dedicated runtime, ~3,800 lines, separate from the FX bots
β€’ its own authenticated transport with TLS and single-use session tickets, because crypto runs 24/7 and the feed can't fail open
β€’ a server-side coordinator handling position claims, reconciliation and a daily risk budget
β€’ a deterministic replay dataset so the strategy tester reproduces exactly, tick for tick

What's left is the least glamorous part: wiring the bot's coordinator calls through the control gateway, then the catalogue, pricing and guides. The engine runs. The plumbing around it doesn't yet.

Next week

Cryptology AI is the top of my list, and I want it out at least as much as you do. If nothing drags me off it, that's the plan.

But I'd rather tell you it slipped than ship a crypto strategy whose AI layer I'm not certain of. 24/7 markets don't give you a weekend to notice a mistake.

πŸ›‘ Update: bots 11.29 and FxRobotEasy Desktop 2.9.7 β€” news filter, EASY Fortress and honest telemetry

On Friday 4 September, during the US jobs report (NFP), some bots opened trades right at the release even though their news filter was switched on. We went through every such case on the account data and found two causes on our side. Both are closed by this release. Here is what was wrong, what changed, and what you need to do.

1. Why the news filter did not fire

The bot's news filter works from the MetaTrader 5 economic calendar. The platform downloads that calendar itself, but only when its news service is enabled. Our installer created portable terminals with the news service off. The calendar stayed empty, the bot had nothing to check, and it did what it was designed to do in that case: trade without the filter and show News: NO DATA on its panel. Nobody was watching that cell β€” not us, not you.

What changed
β€’ Desktop 2.9.7 turns the news service on in every new installation and repairs existing ones automatically: at the next launch Desktop fixes the terminal settings and restarts the terminal.
β€’ Bots 11.29 re-check the calendar every 10 minutes instead of once an hour, so the filter comes alive within minutes of the service being enabled.
β€’ The news-source status is now reported to our monitoring: if an account has the filter on and no data for more than 30 minutes, support gets an alert and will contact you.

How to see that the filter works on your side
Bot panel, Params block, NEWS row:
β€’ ON (live) β€” calendar loaded, filter active. No entry opens from 10 minutes before to 10 minutes after an event of the selected importance for your instrument's currencies.
β€’ NO DATA β€” the news service is off or the calendar has not loaded yet. The bot trades without the filter. Action needed (see below).
β€’ OFF β€” the filter is disabled in the bot settings (InpFilterNews = false). Your choice; the bot respects it.
Second check: the Calendar tab in the terminal's Toolbox must be filled with events.

What to do (2 minutes)

Open FxRobotEasy Desktop and accept the update to 2.9.7. If none is offered, download the installer again from the link below and run it once: it updates both the terminals and the bots.
Manual route: in MetaTrader 5 open Tools β†’ Options β†’ Server, tick "Enable news", press OK and restart the terminal.
Confirm the bot panel says News: ON (live).
Important: until the calendar is loaded the bot keeps trading exactly as it did on Friday. If you cannot update before the next major release, switch AutoTrading off 15 minutes before the publication and back on 15 minutes after.

2. EASY Fortress and the bots no longer fight each other

EASY Fortress is our free equity guard. When the daily-loss or maximum-drawdown limit is breached it closes every position on the account and keeps the account in quarantine until the end of the trading day. Until now the bots knew nothing about that quarantine: a bot opened a position, Fortress closed it a second later, the bot opened again. Every loop cost spread and commission, and over a few weeks some customers accumulated hundreds of such trades.

What changed
β€’ Fortress 11.29 tells the bots its state inside the terminal. A bot 11.29 that sees quarantine or a hard lock opens no new positions, while positions already open are managed as usual: trailing, break-even and closes keep working.
β€’ The bot panel shows a Fortress: ARMED / QUARANTINE / HARD LOCK row and the journal records every transition.
β€’ The protection is active only when both the bot and Fortress are on 11.29. To opt a specific bot out, set InpRespectFortressLock = false.
β€’ Fortress now waits for the limit to hold for several seconds in a row and no longer reacts to a brief spread spike at a news release. Previously a couple of seconds of wide spread were enough to close the whole account at the worst prices.
β€’ If an older bot still keeps re-opening while Fortress is locked, Fortress logs it and reports it to us.
3. Also in this release
β€’ Reports and trade explanations now attribute Fortress closes to the bot that opened the position, not to "another EA". Customers who received an account review with that mistake on 4 September will get a correction.
β€’ The Golden Key checkout and promo page show the true state of the offer: if it has expired you see it immediately, not on the last button. Personal offers keep working regardless.

We are sorry about Friday. If you have a question about a specific trade, write to support in the app or reply to our e-mail and we will go through it together on your account data.
