If the Fed’s balance sheet begins to expand while rates are being cut, amid a record budget deficit and a rising stock market, this doesn’t save the economy — it’s like “pouring oil on the fire,” or adding fuel to an overheated market.

The economy is not in a recession — stock indexes are near record highs, unemployment is around 4%, and inflation remains above target, while AI-related stocks are excessively inflated. This looks like QE not in a crisis, but at the peak of overheating.

It’s a classic stage of the long-term debt cycle: a sharp rise in government debt → the central bank prints money and buys it up → the Treasury shortens duration → inflation is ignored for the sake of elections and growth.

He believes this is no longer a technical step, but the final stage of the cycle — stimulus, debt monetization, and overheated markets. As before, capital is flowing into scarce assets like gold, BTC, and others.
