🇬🇧 Android 13 DP1: Google provided tools to create Material You themed icons
Previously, these icons were embedded in the Pixel Launcher, but now third-party developers will be able to add them to their apps using the new toolkit. They need to upload an SVG logo that fits within a 36 x 36 dp area inside a 90 x 90 dp container. If the logo needs to be larger, it can be a maximum of 60 x 60 dp. If the logo is three-dimensional, you can use the alpha gradient. Also developers must declare them in the app manifest.

The feature still appears to be in development, so it is difficult to determine exactly how it works. However, by enabling a hidden SystemUI flag, the feature’s command line interface becomes available. These commands are likely used by Google to quickly prototype the sender/receiver flow. The commands are as follows:

"Camera Obduscator" removes all metadata from the image, but changes could run deeper — JPEGs are now containers for all sorts of other data, and this could be intended to strip out other information from camera testing Google is doing as well.
Mishaal Rahman tells that it's been in use internally previously, but that it doesn't usually ship in production builds.

The new system photo picker will help protect photo and video privacy by making it easier for users to pick the specific photos and videos to share with an app. Like the Files app, the new system photo picker can share photos and videos stored locally or on cloud storage. The new photo picker experience will also roll out to Android devices running Android 11 or higher (excluding Android Go Edition) through an update to the MediaProvider module.

As showcased by noted Android developer kdrag0n on Twitter, it’s possible to run various Linux distributions and even full-blown Windows 11 on a Pixel 6 on the Android 13 developer preview. Kdrag0n notes that after some tweaking, Windows 11 is perfectly usable on their Pixel 6, with a video showcasing how well and smoothly the virtual machine runs.

On the latter two it works through web apps, while on Chrome OS it is implemented through deep integration with PhoneHub. They haven’t yet found a way to launch a specific app from the phone, nor have we seen any options to change the display size.
