Pixel Watch showed up through the Fast Pair dialog box. Companion app confirmed.
Reddit user u/Andad87 received a Google Fast Pair interface pairing notification on his smartphone. According to him, he was in Sydney, Australia, and the nearest tech store was JB Hifi.
The Fast Pair dialog box prompts to download the "Device App" to start setup. This confirms early assumptions that the Pixel Watch will have its own companion app.
Clicking on the "Go to Google Play" button took the user to a non-existent page in the app store (404 error).

Another trace of the companion app for the Pixel Watch.
Redditor u/ColorfulCulture_Tech came across a listing of the app in the web version of the Google Play Store. However, when clicking on it, the user received a 404 error.
From here, we can learn the name of the companion app, "Pixel Watch". It seems that hypothetically the page is already in the store, but it is still hidden from users.

Google Photos Effects carousel got a change.
At the end of June, we found that Google Photos was preparing a new Effects carousel, which would be available in the context menu under the photo. It used to show you a selection of effects, and clicking on one of the results would open a full-screen interface with a gallery where you could take a closer look at the results and apply the suggested effects.
Now, the effects use icon cards instead of photos. Clicking on one of them opens the Google Photos editor with the effect already applied.
This change was discovered in version 6.9.0 of the app, and has not yet been rolled out to end users.

android.hardware.biometrics.face', which means they support secure face unlock. Previously, this feature was only declared for the Pixel 4 and 4 XL. In addition, both models declare support for '
android.hardware.telephony.euicc.mep', which indicates support for eSIM MEP (Multiple Enabled Profiles). This means that you will be able to connect to two eSIM providers simultaneously. And as in the last generation Ultra-wideband support ('android.hardware.uwb') is declared only in the Pro model.

Here's a first look at the setup page for the Pixels' 'Cough & snore detection' feature.
In the new version of the Android System Intelligence app for the Pixel 7, Mishaal Rahman discovered a new "cough & snore detection" settings page. This feature will use the new Ambient Context API in Android 13. Simply put, ASI will collect raw data using the device's microphone and sensors, then simplify it down to statistics on whether there was a cough or snore, then pass it on to apps like Digital Wellbeing or Clock.
9to5Google has previously found hints of this feature in one version of the Digital Wellbeing app. This feature requires ACCESS_AMBIENT_CONTEXT_EVENT permission, but the Ambient Context API itself cannot be used by third-party apps, but this may change in Android 14.
