This is the way we calculated the cut off , from my experience one thing is very clear - people who are scoring more than 110+ will always make a lot of noise that paper to easy tha, cut off will be high and may sometimes be demolarizing for you , however cut off is not predicted on emotions / sentiments . Q in real hall are always difficult and we have to think about that situation always. We may be wrong and it is fine to be wrong however what Q reflected to us, this has what we came out with
Steps : 1 Segregation of all Q based on solvability in exam conditions ( easy, easy medium, medium, medium tough, tough and unsolvable which can't be solved in exam hall by 90% or more students )
All this is what 90% students who would have given the exam would have felt about the problem like article 21 will go in easy set , similarly Q like Ranyo Ashok is unsolvable by 90% ( it is not 100%)
2) Assigning them weightage which one can see on sheet. Easy will give you full 2 marks while unsolvable is not going to yield any marks.
Negative marking is implicitly captured in the process of weightage assigning
3) Cut off based on paper is computed which was around 102.25 for general , now this is discounted for the number of seats increase this year by a binomial distribution method , detailed calculation on Excel sheets and the same is simulated for all categories
4) We end up at a mean marks for all categories. The variation and standard deviation is again simulated from the fact that which of them can result in aspirants making different choices , which result in +/- 2.33 variation
5) For other categories the Q nature of easy / medium / etc changes slightly based on those category students. Ex. For an EWS / OBC student the same Q will remain easy which was easy for general however not for SC and ST. This is done on past regression. Finally using the above process we will again the cut off for the other categories
Thus we are confident and hopeful that this will work.
We are always learning and applying these learnings. 2017 while we hit bull's eye with exact match , 2018 was a learning year where we over predicted by 2%. The learning will continue this year as well
We wish everyone best of luck for future and an advice - kuch to log kahenge logon ka kaam hai kehna, chodo bekaar Ki baatein , mains / agle pre ka preparation hai karna
Thank you

A basic video of 5-10 min will be made now discussing how was the paper and what next
Before we discuss the pre Q this year this is a caveat
Paper Maine dekha bhi banaya bhi aur assess bhi Kiya
There may be people who would have not got any help from videos and would have been clueless in exam
And there are some who have sent messages that the tricks we discussed helped them in as many as 20 Q
We can't have an objective assessment of the same. These things are subjective
Class and School me do tarah ke bachhe hote hain ek jo teacher ka padhke 100/100 laate they and teachers ke prati gratitude rakhte they and ek jo fail hote hote bachte they and teachers kuch nahi padhaye Aisa kehte they !
Par teacher to same hi padhaye ....
What actually this shows which I learnt from my childhood only is yours weakness and excuse finding way. The earlier one gets rid of this habit in life , the more they can achieve in life
Baaki to kuch to log kahenge logon ka kaam hai kehna...10000 people can't have same opinion on group and the most important msg is have a positive approach in life and look for good things :)

Happy Eid and World's Environment Day
Spread love affection to your environment as well
NIMBY (not in my backyard) approach will not work for long
Niti Aayog predicts water crisis in many states in coming decade.
Let's not close our eyes to real issues

I guess for SC/ST they are under predicting (Shankar) and rest all inline with ours , let's keep fingers crossed
We will have a video discussing paper shortly in 2-3 min, keep set D ready
