What is a dApp?

A #dApp (decentralised application) refers to an application built on #blockchain networks. It operates autonomously with smart contracts, with a vast majority being on #Ethereum.

hashport now has a Manual Recovery Feature. If an initial execution is unsuccessful, #hashporters will be able to continue porting by locating the Hedera transaction ID and completing necessary actions.

For example, a #blockchain-based gaming #dApp built on #Ethereum network may not reach an optimal transaction speed or cost.

With #hashport, a developer can move their tokens to another network with the capabilities they want, in this case, a faster transaction speed and lower cost.

In this tutorial, Dovu demonstrates how you can port $DOV tokens from the #Ethereum network to the Hedera network by using Venly wallet and hashport.

What this means for the DLT landscape?

Users will be better served as #dApps migrate to networks with more desirable performance capabilities —> incumbent networks will be pushed to improve their platforms to retain users —> a positive feedback loop occurs, benefiting the entire DLT ecosystem
