WHY is a word sometimes "on the tip of our tongue" but we cannot recall it?
In our brains, various departments are responsible for memory, figurative thinking, sensation, and speech, "naming". Apparently, some times they fail to work in sync so that you remember the image, feel everything connected with it, but the speech department refuses to give out the result.
The more you wish to recall, the less likely it is that you will succeed. Studies indicate that such "forgetting" situations occur more and more frequently as we age. Yet the cause isn't always age-related mental deterioration.
The point, as it turns out, is in the accumulated experience β the more there is, the more complicated the work of the centers involved in thinking and the more likely there are failures and internal conflicts.

Scientists are turning the herpes virus into a cure for multiple cancers.
The herpes simplex virus (HSV-1) infects nearly two-thirds of people worldwide, usually causing nothing more serious than cold sores. But when genetically reprogrammed, it becomes something extraordinary: an oncolytic virus β a therapy that targets, infects, and destroys cancer cells while activating the immune system to finish the job.
The therapy works in two ways. First, the virus replicates inside tumor cells until they burst, killing them directly. Second, the immune system recognizes the viral invasion and begins attacking cancer cells throughout the body, including those not injected with the virus.
Early clinical trials are showing remarkable promise. In studies with modified herpes viruses such as RP1 and RP2, about a quarter of patients with advanced cancers have responded, and in melanoma trials, one-third of patients saw tumors shrink β with nearly one in six experiencing complete disappearance of their cancer.

𧬠CRISPR - CRISPR is a powerful and versatile gene-editing technology that allows scientists to make precise, targeted changes to an organism's DNA. It was adapted from a natural immune system in bacteria and is now used in a wide range of applications, from basic research to developing new therapies for genetic diseases. The most well-known system uses the CRISPR-associated protein 9 (Cas9), which acts as "molecular scissors" to cut DNA.
βοΈ Applications in @Health :-
π₯ Gene therapy: CRISPR is being explored in clinical trials to treat a wide variety of diseases caused by genetic mutations, such as sickle cell anemia, cystic fibrosis, and hemophilia.
πΈ Cancer treatment: Scientists are engineering patients' immune cells, such as T-cells, to better target and kill cancer cells.
βͺοΈ Infectious diseases: CRISPR can be used to disable the genomes of viruses, including HIV, or to block the pathways they use to infect cells.
β Diagnostics: CRISPR-based tools have been developed for rapid and sensitive detection of pathogens, including the virus that causes COVID-19.
