مدتی پیش ایمیلی از یک داوطلب آیلتس دریافت کردم که در باره تجربه خود در یکی از مراکز برگزاری آیلتس در ونکوور کانادا پرسیده بود. ذیلا متن ایمیل و پاسخ من را ببینید. سوال ذکر شده سوال بسیاری از شما هم هست.

What does it mean if the examiner interrupts you too often?

Q: In part 3 I spoke just 2 sentences for each question and the examiner kept interrupting me.

If the examiner interrupts you quite a lot then most likely your answers are either too long or you are speaking too slowly.
You say you just spoke two sentences. I guess you mean about two sentences for each answer. Basically, the examiner is under pressure to ask you a total of at least a minimum of about 5 questions for the whole Part 3 and he/she must ask these questions on two different topics that are loosely connected to the Part 2. I'm sorry to say that it sounds like your performance was not that good, although maybe not as poor (or bad) as you might think.
Examiners might also interrupt you if you are obviously speaking a rehearsed, memorized answer or one that is irrelevant to the question.

Most likely you gave two-sentence answers to the questions and then paused, trying to think of how to add more details or "develop" your answers but you were pausing too long. Most candidates are like that. It's not exactly a case of "interrupting" if you are not really speaking when the examiner moves on to another question.

You also need to develop the skill of "discussing" by showing in some way that you have not finished what you want to say. For example, saying, "Umm" tells the examiner you are still thinking. Or making a small comment or statement like, "In fact, there's more I can say about that."

Prescient (adjective) – anticipating the significance of events before they occur; or, having foresight
Prescience (noun) – the capacity to be prescient; or, to anticipate forthcoming events

GRE pro tips:
The word “prescient” is a challenging GRE word that may appear unfamiliar to you, but its meaning can be revealed by examining its roots. You likely know that the prefix pre- means “before” (as in prehistoric, or prefix!), and, if you remove that prefix, you’re left with “science.” Science comes from a Latin word meaning “to know”—this makes sense considering that science is a form of knowledge. So, you can safely assume that being prescient means having “pre-knowledge,” or insight, of things that have not yet occurred. People with prescience are often prophetic or visionary—they could use their foresightedness as a political analyst, or even as a sea captain.

It is worth noting that prescience is related to another GRE word you need to know: omniscience. Whereas someone with prescience knows things before they transpire, someone (or some entity) with omniscience knows all the things (omni means “all”).
