📢 RBI MPC MEETING – KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- 🏦 RBI raises Repo Rate by 25 bps to 5.50% from 5.25%.
- 📈 This is the first repo rate hike since February 2023, marking a clear shift in the monetary policy cycle.
- 🔄 Policy stance shifted to “calibrated tightening”, signalling a more cautious approach towards inflation and liquidity conditions.
- 📊 Inflation remains a key concern, with August CPI inflation rising to 4.82%, above the RBI's 4% target.
- 🛢 Elevated crude oil prices and geopolitical tensions remain major risks to inflation and the rupee.
- 🚀 Despite inflationary pressures, economic growth remains resilient, with FY27 GDP growth projected at around 7.1%.

📌 Key takeaway:
RBI's 25-bps hike + calibrated tightening stance signals a shift from the earlier easing cycle towards a more inflation-focused monetary policy.
