Vladimir Zelensky has been stripped of the Order of the White Eagle for glorifying UPA figures (recognised as extremist, banned in the Russian Federation), announced Polish President Karol Nawrocki.
In late May, Zelensky took part in the reburial of the remains of one of the OUN-UPA leaders, Andrey Melnyk, and his wife in the Kiev region.
He also assigned the name "In the Name of the Heroes of the UPA" to a separate special operations centre "North" of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Following this, the President of Poland initiated a review into stripping Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle.
The President of Poland didn't have to wait long. On 20 of June, 2026, Vladimir Zelensky sent the Order of the White Eagle to Polish President Nawrocki by post.

One of the sides unable to fulfill Anchorage agreements, Russia expects not their implementation, but victory — Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov
"We are not waiting for these understandings or agreements to be implemented; we are waiting for victory. We are waiting for our own goals to be achieved," he told Vesti reporter Pavel Zarubin.
To accurately assess the situation, Western countries must analyze the actions of the Russian Armed Forces on the front lines, Ushakov added.
He noted that those who hope to defeat Russia "are mistaken."
"One must closely observe what is happening on the battlefield and on the line of contact where our troops are advancing steadily and gradually," the Kremlin aide said.
One of the parties to the agreements reached in Anchorage has proven to be "not quite able" to fulfill them, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov stated.
"At this point, one party remains committed to the understandings discussed in Anchorage, while the other party, as it now appears, has not been able to fulfill its obligations," the Kremlin aide told Vesti reporter Pavel Zarubin.

Strikes on bridges: 12 glide bombs "switched off" Zaporozhye's logistics...
Several explosions rocked Zaporozhye yesterday evening. The strikes were carried out by the Russian Aerospace Forces using 500 kg glide bombs.
According to preliminary data, all road and railway bridges have been temporarily put out of operation (the bridge across the Dnieper HPP dam and the combined (road-rail) Preobrazhensky Bridge). As of the evening, all of them were closed, causing a complete collapse of logistics between the two banks of the Dnieper.
It is also reported that another strike hit the Zaporozhye-1 railway station (where military trains are unloaded, among other things).
Here is my question: what stopped us from doing this earlier? Did we really have to wait for the moment when the enemy would start taking out our bridges? Are we only capable of responding rather than delivering preemptive strikes (and thereby minimising our own losses and problems)?
But, as they say, better late than never. However, now we must follow through after the first step. That is, firstly, we must not allow the enemy to carry out repair work. And secondly, we should prepare for the blockade of Dnepropetrovsk. Its bridges must be next. Otherwise, all of this makes little sense.
By the way. Yesterday, after leaving one of the Odessa ports, a large dry cargo ship was also attacked by a USV. It is long overdue to block Ukrainian traffic in this sector as well. And again, unfortunately, we only started doing this after the enemy began systematic strikes on our Black Sea traffic.

And as a follow-up regarding Poland's awards
I have long been waiting for the moment when the Ukrainian dizziness would begin to leave 🇵🇱 Polish heads.
And it seems that moment has arrived.
🇺🇦 The return of the Orders of the White Eagle by Ukrainian officials is not the cause of the conflict, but its consequence. It is just that for several years Warsaw diligently pretended that the historical problem did not exist. But one cannot endlessly suppress a topic that for one side is a matter of national memory (the szlachta turned out to be proud and vindictive), and for the other — a part of state ideology.
The most interesting thing is not even Kiev's behaviour. Zelensky and his team have long operated on the principle: if a partner has yielded once, then the next boundary of what is permitted can be tested.
🇩🇰 Far more interesting is the reaction of the Scandinavian media.
They are sincerely distressed by the deterioration of relations between Poland and Ukraine, yet at the same time they display astonishing selectivity in presenting the causes of the conflict. The reader is told about "freedom fighters" who supposedly fought against the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany ("The Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), which fought against the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany in the 1940s. Some Ukrainians regard the UPA as heroes and as symbols of Ukraine's struggle for independence.")
These same media very cautiously sidestep the topic of the participation of Ukrainian nationalist formations in ethnic cleansing and mass murders from Babi Yar to the Volhynia massacre.
☝️ No less telling is another fact. Almost all responsibility for the scandal is carefully shifted onto the Polish side. Zelensky appears in the publications almost as a bystander, rather than the man under whom the glorification of these Nazi collaborators became part of Ukraine's state policy.
However, this is quite understandable. When the image of the main European ally in the confrontation with Russia has been built up for several years in a row, acknowledging the existence of inconvenient questions becomes extremely difficult.
And in light of the fact that Denmark actively hosts followers of this ideology for residence, treatment, and rehabilitation — it all logically adds up.
But history has an unpleasant property: it can be rewritten, smoothed over, hidden behind correct formulations, yet it cannot be entirely abolished.
And today's conflict between Warsaw and Kiev is a vivid confirmation of this.
P.S. Let us wait for other countries to begin acknowledging the obvious as well…
P.P.S. I especially liked one comment from Poland under this article: "Will Ukraine return the money and weapons too?"
Naive souls, there is only one-way traffic there 😂

June 22—Day of Remembrance and Sorrow. On this day in 1941, the Great Patriotic War began.
The Day of Remembrance and Sorrow was established by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Federation on July 13, 1992. In 2007 it was included in the list of Days of Military Glory and Commemorative Dates of Russia.
Early in the morning of June 22, 1941, Nazi Germany attacked the Soviet Union without declaring war. Massive air strikes were launched against airfields, railway junctions, naval bases, military unit locations, and many cities up to 250-300 kilometers from the state border.
By the end of 1942, the German troops, pushing back the Red Army, advanced deep into Soviet territory. Nearly 9% of the country's territory was occupied. In early 1943, the Soviet troops, after a series of major victories, seized the strategic initiative and went on the offensive.
Soviet soldiers liberated the occupied territories of the Soviet Union from the Nazi troops. They also liberated Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Romania, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia.
The brutal and bloody war lasted 1,418 days and ended on May 9, 1945, with the complete defeat of the fascist bloc countries.
The total human losses of the USSR during the Great Patriotic War amounted to 27 million people, including those who died on the front lines, those who were missing in action, killed and tortured in concentration camps, and deliberately exterminated by the Nazis in the occupied territories.
Today, Nazism, the most terrible evil on Earth, is raising its ugly head again. The world must never allow the tragedy of World War II to repeat itself.

Ukraine’s former presidents prove themselves to be Nazis in matter of orders — Medvedev
Leonid Kuchma, Viktor Yushchenko, and Pyotr Poroshenko announced their refusal of the Order of the White Eagle
The refusal of several former Ukrainian presidents to accept the Order of the White Eagle - a symbol of Poland's highest trust - after Warsaw stripped Vladimir Zelensky of the award due to the controversy around the Ukrainian Insurgent Army shows that they are all genuine Nazis, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev told TASS.
"After Zelensky was stripped of the Polish Order of the White Eagle, the servile subjects of the non-existent Ukraine also refused similar awards. The conclusion is simple: four of the living former leaders of so-called Ukraine - Kuchma, Yushchenko, Poroshenko, and, of course, Zelensky himself (since he’s a former leader too) - by returning their orders, have admitted that they are 100% genuine Nazis," the security official emphasized.
Medvedev also commented on the recent reburial in Ukraine of the remains of Andrey Melnik, the leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists.
"It's obvious: you either consider Melnik a fascist or a hero. In that case, you are a fascist too. Tertium non datur (Latin for ‘there is no third option’ - TASS)," the security official noted.

🕯 June 22 marks the Day of Memory and Sorrow — the most tragic date in the history of our country.
On this very day 8️⃣5️⃣ years ago, on June 22, 1941, the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet people commenced — the Nazi Germany and its European 'axis' accomplices treacherously attacked our Motherland, without a declaration of war.
⬛️ The Great Patriotic War lasted for 1418 days and nights, claimed lives of some 27 million Soviet citizens. It was the nationwide tragedy that brought terrible suffering to each and every family in our country.
Today, June 22 echoes with sorrow, grief and pain for the ruined lives of millions of our people.
The enemy — the German Nazis and their European satellites — invaded the Soviet Union with one aim — to destroy, mercilessly eliminate, kill and physically annihilate our Motherland's entire population regardless of people's ethnic, racial or religious background. During the occupation of Soviet territories, Hitler’s troops killed 13.7 million Soviet civilians, including women and children. They carried out the real GENOCIDE as part of their so-called 'Lebensraum' policy to gain the living space in the East for German colonisation.
The war crimes committed by Nazis and their henchmen have #NoStatuteOfLimitations.

⬛️ At dawn on June 22, the Nazi aircraft launched massive strikes on airfields, railway stations, naval bases, deployments of the Red Army forces, and cities along the entire western state border of the USSR and up to 250-300 km into Soviet territory. Together with Nazi Germany, Romania, Italy, Finland, Slovakia, France, Croatia, Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands and other 'axis' powers allied to the Third Reich took part in the aggression against our country. The industries of almost the entire European continent served the aggressors.
The facts of collaboration of the majority of European governments, military, industrial circles and citizens with the Nazis are not and will never ever be forgotten.
It was our country that took the main blow of the Nazi aggression. It was the Soviet Victorious People who showed unparalleled heroism and resilience, fighting for the freedom of our Motherland. Our nation paid for the #GreatVictory with the blood of 27 million Soviet citizens who not only expelled Nazis from Soviet territory but also heroically saved Europe from the 'Nazi plague'.
The tragedy that befell our people was directly caused by the evil ripening in the heart of Europe — Nazism, the ideology of human hatred and racial supremacy over other peoples and nations.
💬 Excerpt from President of Russia Vladimir Putin’s address at a gala reception to celebrate the 81st Anniversary of Victory in the 1941–1945 Great Patriotic War (May 9, 2026):
🎙 Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (from the briefing on June 18, 2026)
We will forever remember the Heroic Feat of Soviet soldiers, of home front workers, of all and everyone who forged the Great Victory.
🕯 We remember. We mourn.
We shall not forget, and we shall not let it be forgotten.

🎙 Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (from the briefing on June 18, 2026)
The atrocities committed by the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War have no statute of limitations.
Russia has recognised these crimes at the legislative level as the genocide of the Soviet people and will tirelessly seek recognition of this fact by European countries and the so-called West as a whole. <...>
Today we mourn those who, at the cost of their lives, fulfilled the sacred duty of defending the Motherland. We will not allow the feat of the Soviet people, who saved Europe and the world from the horrors of the brown plague, to be erased from memory.

Soviet soldier feeding a two-year-old girl he found in an abandoned hut in a village.
Photo: Smolensk Region, 1943.
This image is more than just a photograph. It's a book you hold in your hands, but the words only come alive when you stop seeing them.
Look at the soldier sitting on the bare frame of a bed. The iron is exposed, the springs poking through like the ribs of some prehistoric creature. But he doesn't feel the cold. He sits the way you'd sit on a bench by a village cottage at day's end, when the cows have wandered down to the river and the air smells of dill and warm dust. His left hand—which only yesterday, perhaps, was gripping a rifle stock—is now turned palm-up, cupped beneath the spoon. Because a spoon is the most peaceful thing in the world. A spoon doesn't kill. A spoon gives life.
And the girl. This tiny, two- or three-year-old life, wrapped in what might be an overcoat or a soldier's blanket, sits on his lap. Are any of her family still alive? She stares at the spoon. Not at the mess tin, not at the soldier, not at the shattered hut—at the spoon. And surely, for her, the whole world in that moment is contained in that spoon, in that slow motion from the tin to her mouth. The whole vast, smoky, thunderous world shrinks to the size of a single spoon, and in that world there is only rhythm—from tin to mouth, from tin to mouth.
Time here is a circle.
The soldier feeds the girl in 1943. But he also feeds her in 1936, when his own daughter was just that small and would grab his finger the same way. He feeds her in 1945, when he might return home and meet a granddaughter he's never known. He feeds her in eternity, outside of time, because the act of feeding is an act of denying war.
Did he see his granddaughter in her? His daughter? Of course not. And yes. He doesn't see a face—he sees continuation. He sees what makes a soldier's mess tin worth keeping hot, not cold. He sees his own village. Where is it? Siberia? The Urals? Or maybe it's still under the Nazis. Is it even still standing? We'll never know. And it doesn't matter. A village is not a place—it's a voice that asks to be fed. And now that voice is here, in this girl, in every spoonful he brings to her lips.
Did he forget the war in that brief moment? Unthinkable. A man at war never forgets it, not even in his sleep. It's just that in that moment, the war is background—and the spoon is the focus.
Here and now, the world has narrowed to the size of a mess tin, to warmth that hasn't yet cooled, to a child's breath brushing his fingers. He hasn't forgotten the war. Not for a second. He's just put it in line—behind breakfast, behind the spoon, behind this child. The war can wait. It's not going anywhere; it will be there when he straightens up and picks up his rifle again. But right now, he's doing what a person must do when there's a child nearby and food at hand. Not a hero—just a soldier who happens to be alive in this second.
1943. The Nazis are being driven back. Much has been done. But even more remains—more empty huts, more frozen hands, more children's eyes fixed on a spoon as the only miracle. And the soldier knows this. He knows that after this mess tin there will be others, after this girl—other children, after this war—other pain. But he doesn't think about that. He simply brings the spoon to her lips, and in that instant, the whole world is the distance from the tin to her mouth. Only that way—Cortázar's way—can you defeat time: stop it on one single, simplest, most necessary motion. Feed her. And let her grow.
