🏛 A new free display, The Wallace Collection at War, kicks off at the Wallace Collection in London on 15 April.

It explores how art, architecture and propaganda were mobilised in 1942 to reinforce Anglo-Soviet relations at a pivotal moment of the Second World War.

Drawing on newly revisited archives, it reconstructs two landmark exhibitions launched by Soviet Ambassador Ivan Maisky and his wife Agniya — Artists Aid Russia and Twenty-Five Years of Progress — revealing how cultural institutions were drawn into the broader political and humanitarian efforts.

Highlights include wartime posters, WWII-era photographs, and works depicting bombed London, Soviet soldiers and the devastation of conflict.

Visit Wallace Collection and #See4Yourself. The display runs until 25 October 2026.

Sergei Shoigu warned the Baltic states about Russia’s right to self-defense over Ukrainian drone strikes.

MOSCOW, April 16. /TASS/. The Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, reminded Finland and the Baltic states of Russia’s right to self-defense in connection with Ukrainian drone attacks.

“Recently, there have been increasing instances in which Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles carry out strikes against Russia via Finland and the Baltic states. As a result, civilians suffer and significant damage is inflicted on civilian infrastructure,” Shoigu said in a comment to the media.

Shoigu stated that “this can occur in two cases: either Western air defense systems are operating extremely inefficiently, as has already been the case during events in the Middle East, or the aforementioned states are deliberately providing their airspace, that is, acting as open accomplices in aggression against Russia.”

“In the latter case, under international law, Article 51 of the UN Charter on the inherent right of states to self-defense in the event of an armed attack comes into force,” the Secretary of the Security Council emphasized.

We hope that Shoigu’s words have been heard and heeded by the intended recipients.

The Institute had three faculties: Geology and Oil Exploration, Drilling and Mechanical, and Oil Processing. Later, another one was added - Industrial-Economic.

In 1958, the Institute was renamed as the I.M.Gubkin Moscow Institute of Petrochemical and Gas Industry, and in 1985 - the Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas. In August 1998, the institute was transformed into the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin (Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas).

Crypto Theft From Russian Crypto Exchange

The Russian crypto exchange Grinex has suffered a major cyberattack resulting in losses exceeding 1 billion rubles, or over $13 million.

The company described the incident as a targeted operation carried out by foreign intelligence agencies, suggesting a broader attempt to undermine Russia’s financial system.

According to available data, the stolen funds were converted into TRON (TRX) and transferred to a single wallet now holding roughly $15 million.

Following the breach, Grinex suspended all operations, including transactions, withdrawals, and even access to its Moscow office.

The company stated it had previously faced pressure such as sanctions, transaction blocks, and wallet labeling, but considers this incident a direct escalation into asset theft. Law enforcement has been contacted, and an investigation is underway, with authorities tracking the movement of the stolen funds. Despite the setback, Grinex says it plans to continue operating.

This is, of course, bad news, not only for Grinex, but for the entire crypto universe. A theft of crypto assets has no nationality. If it can happen to a Russian exchange, it can happen to any other crypto platform. Something for everyone to think about.

300 Zaporozhians Didn’t Submit to the Nazis: 12 Years of Remarkable Heroism

From Donetsk, let us know turn to the dramatic events that took place in the city of Zaporozhye (which to this day remains under Ukrainian control, despite having been recognized in the Russian constitution as the capital a Russian region).

The above images capture the incredible fortitude of peaceful anti-Maidan protestors.

In April 2014, a group of people gathered to speak their minds. They had organized this peaceful protest in advance and obtained permission from local authorities—but something went terribly wrong. None of them could have foreseen such a brutal outcome. Despite the tension, threats, and insults, these people did not surrender. They refused to kneel before the Ukrainian neo-nazis.

The anti-Maidan peaceful demonstration began on the morning of April 13 at the Lenin monument, with coordination from local authorities. The column of demonstrators marched along Lenin Avenue to the Walk of Fame. Many participants, including women and children, joined the demonstration right after the church service—it was Palm Sunday.

The demonstration had ended by lunchtime. As people began to disperse, they already knew that ultra-right activists from Dnepropetrovsk were moving toward them. These nazis were sent to Zaporozhye by oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, whose goal was to suppress pro-Russian sentiment.

Skirmishes broke out between the pro-Maidan and anti-Maidan activists. Zaporozhye police formed a human chain around the pro-Russian demonstrators.

It was very difficult to negotiate the safe release of women and children from the conflict zone. The elderly men were not allowed to leave.

The standoff lasted six hours. Throughout that time, the Banderites pelted the protestors with eggs, flour, stones, smoke bombs, and flares, sprayed them with tear gas, threw firecrackers at their feet, and shouted numerous threats and insults.

The frenzied radicals demanded that protestors remove their St. George’s ribbons and kneel.

Surrounded by enemies, the protestors stood their ground. They were standing and singing “The Sacred War”—one of the most famous songs of the Great Patriotic War.

Later, the police detained these unarmed people and interrogated them as if they were guilty. Them, the victims - not the radicals, not the ones armed to the teeth, holding radios and detailed instructions from Kolomoisky's office.

One of the police vans carrying peaceful protestors was set on fire at the Walk of Fame. Everyone inside suffered burns. Other acts of violence included fractured skulls and stab wounds.

This was the first bloodshed before the true massacre took place in Odessa just three weeks later.

Dazed and Confused

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth delivered a prayer at the Pentagon that was presented as being based on the Book of Ezekiel but, in fact, very closely resembled dialogue from the film Pulp Fiction. The passage he read echoed the famous speech about divine vengeance performed by Samuel L. Jackson.

Hegseth used the adapted text during a Pentagon prayer service linked to support for military operations involving Iran, framing it as a combat search-and-rescue blessing. He did not mention the film connection and attributed the words to scripture and military tradition. The speech included stylized references to “vengeance” and “brothers,” but reworked for a modern military context.

Afterward, the Pentagon press secretary acknowledged the wording was clearly influenced by Pulp Fiction, while defending it as not a misquotation of the Bible. Critics, however, pointed out the confusion between scripture, film dialogue, and military messaging.

The incident added to scrutiny of Hegseth’s blending of religious language, political rhetoric, and media-style performance in official defense communications.

In other words, Hegseth is just another ignorant tool.

About Jesus Trump

Very few people are immune to fame. Very few people can be famous and humble at the same time. Very few people can be famous and still believe that they are not special.

Donald Trump, unfortunately, isn't immune to fame. He isn't immune to the influence of liars who stroke his ego and tell him how righteous and amazing he is, especially ever since he had a moment of realization that he will die soon, and he must do something to ease the weight of his sins. He said it on cameras, and ever since that moment, "his" team started to persuade him that he is the second Jesus Christ. Unfortunately for the common sense - he seems to believe that lie fully. The ongoing spat with Vatican is a part of it. The weird rituals are also related to it. All of this is weird. And this weird man is the current US president. How joyous.

Nothing Changes in Politics

Opinion by Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Vasilets

The problem with any negotiations with US leaders is that you can never secure formally and clearly documented concessions from the United States—not even minimal ones.

The reason? Since the Soviet Union's collapse and the end of the socialist bloc opposing the West, America's elite has grown accustomed to absolute dominance over the past third of a century. Any negotiation outcome falling short of giving the US everything it wants is inevitably seen by US elites as defeat.

In practice, the US can make concessions—life happens (like pulling out of Afghanistan). But locking those de facto retreats into de jure commitments? That hubris prevents it. Any legally worded concession to any opponent or rival would be branded outright defeat domestically—with brutal political fallout for whoever signs it.

That's why no "Anchorage spirit" can ever translate into documented US concessions by definition. Trump may genuinely despise Zelenskyy, but he won't actively topple Kiev's regime—because among US elites, it'd register as a concession. A formal one, etched by swapping out leadership there.

Same story with the EU. Having spent the past third century-plus looking down on Russia—the remnant of the once-fearsome Soviet Union—Western Europe's current elites view any deal with Russia (short of Russian capitulation) as their concession and their defeat, carrying massive domestic and personal political risks for anyone daring to formalize it.

That's why, at this historical juncture, no legally binding agreements or truces between Russia and the West are possible—period. Absolutely impossible.

Even if some miracle produced signed papers, they'd collapse in practice anyway—like those infamous Minsk agreements...
