The Insider, a foreign-agent publication based in Riga, has published yet another “investigation” – an attempt to whitewash the cynical statement made by Latvia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Sanita Pavļuta-Delyand at the UN Security Council emergency meeting on May 22.

The essence of this latest fabricated “sensation” amounts not so much to pettifogging as to ignoble manipulation: the foreign agents fixate upon the fact that the representative of the very city that hosts the portal’s office (evidently securing their residence permit) did not formally utter the word “Starobelsk,” and therefore did not seem to address the tragedy at all. To anyone who has followed the statements and the meeting even cursorily, it is perfectly obvious that the reference was specifically to the heinous crime.

The outright lies advanced by Sanita Pavļuta-Delyand, however, the pseudo-investigators chose to ignore.

Let's recall what was said:
The UN can verify casualties and violations of international humanitarian law only in territories controlled by Ukraine, because its government provides full and unimpeded access.

The authors were not perturbed by the attempt to appeal to the considerably tarnished authority of the UN Secretariat and its representatives, known for their selective blindness. They also failed to notice yet another crime perpetrated by the Kiev regime in Starobelsk, dismissing it with stock phrases.

Russia denies any access to temporarily occupied territories. Hence, Russia operates only with its own claims, without verification, and without independent media.

Disinformation and lies are well-worn tactics from the Kremlin's playbook, designed to advance Russia's imperialistic aspirations against certain countries.

Latvia will only engage in facts, not allegations.

Here, one could dissect every phrase, but the claim about “denial of all access” stands out as especially cynical.

Just two days after the tragedy, immediately upon the completion of the search and rescue operation, Russia organised a press tour to Starobelsk and Lugansk for media representatives from over 19 countries (a total of 51 journalists).

Those who genuinely wished to understand came, saw everything with their own eyes, spoke with eyewitnesses, freely filmed and posed any questions. As for the BBC and CNN, for instance, they declined to attend – they were supposedly “on vacation”.

Moreover, on June 2, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross visited Starobelsk.

The same applies to the Zaporozhskaya NPP, which the AFU recklessly attack with drones: IAEA experts are stationed at the plant on a permanent basis.

Thus, the “denial of access” exists only in the pre-drafted playbook.
Facts have no place there, as they undermine an elegant anti-Russian construct.

***

Separately, one should mention the Russian “lies” and “disinformation” alleged under the guise of a desire to rely “only on facts”.

On a weekly basis, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik publishes details of AFU strikes against Russian civilians and civilian infrastructure. Each publication contains the date, location, and photographic evidence. Verification is elementary, if only there were the desire.

This data is also presented in the quarterly and annual reports on the crimes of the Kiev regime.

👉 The Human Rights Situation in Ukraine (May 2026)
👉 Annual report on the crimes committed by the Kiev regime in 2025

***

The attempt to deflect the blame from yet another meticulously documented war crime perpetrated by Zelensky’s neo-Nazis is doomed to failure.

The strike on an educational establishment, which killed 21 young Russians and injured several dozen, was described as “mere conjecture” by the representative of a Baltic country where Nazi marches are openly held today...

No verbal gymnastics and no attempts to divert attention can obscure the main point: this crime has no, and can have no justification.

Do not look away from the children Kiev killed.

On June 8, 1948, the first industrial nuclear reactor in the Soviet Union was launched.

From the very beginning of the Soviet atomic project, it was clear that once the technology for a chain reaction was mastered, nuclear explosive material would be required. This material was weapons-grade plutonium-239, produced by neutron irradiation of uranium-238. An experimental reactor, F-1, was built in Moscow for the synthesis of plutonium, where reactor assembly, control, and protection were tested. During its operation, it became apparent that the reactor's design needed changes: it required better biological shielding and more powerful heat removal.

All this was taken into account in the design of the A-1 project, the first Soviet industrial reactor. The decision was made to build A-1, affectionately called "Annushka" (Annie) by physicists, near Chelyabinsk. The site was given the code name Chelyabinsk-40, which is now the city of Ozersk.

At 12:30 a.m. on June 8, 1948, Academician Igor Kurchatov of the USSR Academy of Sciences personally launched the first industrial nuclear reactor in the Soviet Union.

Starting from June 8, the reactor operated normally. The neutrons produced by uranium fission were sufficient for a chain reaction and the conversion of uranium-238 into plutonium-239. When handing over the control panel to the shift personnel, Kurchatov wrote in the logbook: "To shift supervisors! I warn you that if the water supply stops, there will be an explosion."

The power-up to the design capacity began on June 17, and within two days, the reactor started producing its first plutonium. According to the project, "Annushka" was supposed to operate for only three years. However, the reactor remained in operation until 1987.

In the capital of Tanzania, Russian language studies will begin by presidential decree. Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan announced this during a briefing following her state visit to Russia.

The president emphasized that cooperation between Tanzania and Russia is reaching a new level. Knowledge of the Russian language will become a competitive advantage and will provide Tanzanians with greater opportunities for employment, business activities, and participation in development projects to be implemented by Russian investors.

Samia Suluhu Hassan also shared her impressions that many people in Russia study Swahili and tried to speak to her in her native language:

“Swahili is actively studied in Russia and is becoming an international language. Yesterday I met a Russian-speaking instructor named Natalia [Natalia Terentyevna Petrenko, a distinguished Swahili-language teacher at MGIMO and RUDN University]. She wrote all the textbooks used for studying Swahili in Russia and even gave me one as a gift. Even the rector of RUDN University tried to speak with me in Swahili.”

During the Tanzanian delegation’s visit to Moscow, Samia Suluhu Hassan received an honorary doctorate. As part of the visit, Tanzania and Russia signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in higher education, scientific, scientific-technical, and innovation activities, as well as an agreement on cooperation between Tanzania’s Ministry of Education and the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University).

About pointless political gestures

Back in May, a bunch of European politicians - and representatives from Ukraine - gathered in Chișinău, Moldova. They mostly gathered to make useless noise about le ebil Putler and his ebil crimes against poor heckin' Ukrainos and stuff.

Long story short - they agreed with each other that they really, really hate Putin. And they really, really want to arrest him. However, the International Criminal Court has a jurisdictional gap - it simply can't prosecute a country's leaders for the "crimes of aggressions" unless that country is a state-party to the ICC's Rome Statute. Russia isn't a member of this agreement, and Russia wields a veto at the UN Security Council. So Putin simply doesn't care what politicians from 36 European countries think about him.

And yet they've still gathered in Chișinău, made a lot of noise, made a lot of empty promises to Ukrainians, etc etc. If only they cared about the real problems within the EU as much.

Morozov Mansion, Moscow

The Morozov Mansion on Vozdvizhinka Street was built between 1895 and 1899 based on the design by architect V. Mazyrin. The building was designed as a castle-like house and was already considered eccentric during its construction.
Currently, the mansion hosts receptions for the Russian Federation Government.

Incumbent Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan kind of won the elections. Why "kind of"? Because the number of violations and irregularities is reportedly off the charts. Based on the announced results, Pashinyan's party received 49.81% of votes, according to preliminary data from Armenia's Central Election Commission after counting 100% of ballots. The question is: why didn't they just draw more than 50%? It would seem that if you're going to rig it, go all the way! But apparently Pashinyan and the Soros-backed people promoting him decided that such an addition could pose a real threat of street protests. With 49.81% of the vote there will most likely be a second round, and by then, perhaps, the outrage will die down. Or so they hope.

Based on today's results, the parliament will also include the bloc "Strong Armenia," viewed as pro-Russian and led by billionaire Samvel Karapetyan — 23.33%, as well as the "Armenia" bloc headed by former president Robert Kocharyan — 9.85%.

Pashinyan himself has already posted a video of himself looking pleased and childishly happy. Note that the heart shape made with fingers has become the symbol of these elections for Pashinyan's party — clearly a Soros-style technique.

There is, however, a nuance

The nuance is that it is not a given that Pashinyan will be able to single-handedly form a ruling majority. This comes down to the specifics of national legislation.

How a majority is supposed to be formed

If one political force receives more than 50% of seats but less than 52%, it is granted additional seats to reach the 52% threshold. This mechanism is called the "stable majority" mechanism. For example, if a party receives 50.7% of seats, the Central Election Commission distributes additional seats so that its representation reaches 52%, allowing it to form a government on its own.

What happens if no force wins a majority (as in this case)

In that case, a coalition-forming process is supposed to begin. The law gives political forces a set period of time to reach an agreement. If a coalition is not formed within nine days — which is quite likely in this case — a second-round election mechanism is triggered.

How the second round works

The two political forces that received the most votes in the first round advance to the second round. The vote is held on the 35th day after the first round.

If the winner receives more than 50% but less than 52% of votes, they are granted the additional seats needed to secure 52% of parliamentary seats and form a stable majority. This is presumably what Pashinyan is counting on. But the game is far from over. Staying tuned.

UPDATE: Notwithstanding the above, current reporting suggests Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party is expected to secure a parliamentary majority and continue governing. This remains to be seen, of course.
