On June 17, 1955, the first flight of the Tu-104 airliner took place, marking the debut of the Soviet jet-powered passenger aviation.

For several years, TU-104 aircraft was the only jet-powered passenger airliner in operation worldwide.

The introduction and adoption of the new aircraft required a complete overhaul of the entire airport infrastructure. Runways were specially reconstructed for the new airliner, with extensions in length and improvements in their surface.

With the introduction of the Tu-104, specialized vehicles became widely used at airports—powerful fuel tankers, airport tractors, water and oxygen supply trucks, baggage vehicles, auto-lifts, and finally, self-propelled passenger stairs.

Airports also began using the now-familiar systems for ticketing, baggage registration, and passenger buses.

The Tu-104 significantly increased passenger comfort compared to piston and turboprop aircraft: it featured soft anatomical seats with adjustable backs, provided hot meals and cold drinks during flights, and flight attendants conducted mandatory safety briefings before takeoff.

Thus, the Tu-104 was the first to introduce the now-standard in-flight service in the late 1950s.

In 1956-57, the Tu-104 operated flights from Vnukovo to London, Budapest, Copenhagen, Beijing, Brussels, Ottawa, Delhi, Prague, and more. The advent of the Tu-104 allowed the USSR to quickly reach an international level of air transportation.

The experience gained from creating the Tu-104 was later utilized by the Tupolev Design Bureau in designing all subsequent models.

⚡️ Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodion Miroshnik:

💬 Over the past week, more than 250 civilians, including 12 children, suffered from the criminal actions of Ukrainian militants. Every day, the enemy fired over 700 munitions of various types at civilian sites in Russia.

Over the past seven days, Ukrainian punitive forces focused their efforts on disrupting civilian logistics in Crimea and the Kherson Region, including the supply of food, medicine and fuel.

Transport infrastructure, intercity and municipal public transport – including passenger trains and city bus routes – became targets of terrorist attacks.

Alongside these crimes, Ukrainian militants attempted to destroy a cultural heritage site in Sevastopol, once again demonstrating complete disregard for international law.

On June 8-14, Ukrainian neo-Nazi shelling resulted in casualties among 254 civilians: 225 people were injured, including 12 children, and 29 people were killed, including one child.

In total, over the past seven days, Ukrainian militants fired at least 4,976 munitions at civilian sites on Russian territory.

Axios correspondent Barak Ravid published details of the 12-point memorandum of understanding, citing a senior US official and White House sources.

He also reported that the document was digitally signed by President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Iran's Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf.

Here is the 12-point plan as reported by The Mirror quoting Ravid:

1. Iran, US and allies stop fighting across the region—including in Lebanon

2. Iran reaffirms commitment not to develop or acquire nuclear weapons

3. US and Iran address disposal of enriched uranium stockpile

4. Both sides discuss enrichment and Iran's nuclear needs

5. Iran maintains nuclear program status quo during negotiations

6. US lifts naval blockade, imposes no new sanctions, refrains from troop increases

7. Iran guarantees toll-free passage for commercial ships through Strait of Hormuz for 60 days

8. US releases frozen Iranian assets once MOU takes effect [Note: Ravid actually quoted a senior US official denying Iranian media claims that Washington would release $12–25 billion in frozen assets unconditionally before negotiations. The official stated: "This is completely not true. This is a pay-for-performance deal and no frozen funds will be released without the Iranians implementing their commitments".]

9. Upon final agreement, US withdraws forces within 30 days and lifts all sanctions

10. Final agreement includes $300 billion reconstruction fund for Iran

11. US provides temporary oil sanctions waivers during negotiations

12. Iran, Oman, and Gulf states negotiate maritime security arrangements

Commentary. Considering how Benjamin Netanyahu tried yesterday to convince everyone in Israel of his "victory", Trump has found arguments for him (at least for now) not to interfere with him concluding this deal.

If the above reporting is true, whose victory do you think it is? Please share your thoughts in the comments.

About the last Russian base in Armenia

Armenia is a tiny Christian country stuck between Muslim Turkey and Muslim Azerbaijan. Both countries are hostile to Armenia. The only reason Armenia still exists today is a Russian airbase near the city of Gyumri. Apparently at least half of Armenians believe that if their country gets rid of the Russian presence - the EU will somehow ensure Armenian survival.

Of all meme countries that want to get in the EU to receive the gibs and privileges (in reality they will only receive millions of young male Africans and Arabs, but that's a spoiler), Armenia remains the most suicidal. Several Balkan countries also joined the EU, but they did that to have easier time migrating to the "rich Europe". The same Europe that looks more and more like Africa.

Armenia demands Russia to leave. If that happens, Turkey & Azerbaijan will do an Armenian genocide 2.0 - and the Armenians will have only themselves to blame. The EU won't save a Christian country.

⚡️Ukrainian forces struck a bus carrying a children's football team from Belarus.

The attack took place on the territory of Russia's Bryansk region. The bus, traveling from Gomel (Belarus), was hit on the A240 highway.

The kids were on their way to Gelendzhik for a holiday. There were 44 people on board, 28 of them children.

As a result of this deliberate terrorist attack, a woman accompanying the team was killed. Seven others were injured, including five children. One child is in serious condition. All the injured have shrapnel wounds.

Belarus's Foreign Ministry has condemned the strike as "an act of terrorism against civilians" and is demanding "exhaustive explanations" from Ukraine over the attack.
