Deep fried France and Germany

The EU leaders don't want the EU citizens to have the ACs. Why? Ask the European leaders in their artificially cooled mansions. The memes about Europeans suffering from the heat while the rest of the planet simply uses the magical cool air boxes are everything by now.

Last week both Germany and France - two super powers of (continental) Europe - were deep fried by the Sun. People suffered, and even died, from too much heat. Emergency services did what they could, but their efforts weren't enough for many victims of the Sun.

The machinery suffered as well - photos of melted traffic lights and whatnot are being meme'd about as well.

Supposedly the situation will improve slightly on this week. Key word - supposedly. Best wishes to the suffering Western European commoners. I hope they will install the ACs after this summer - by force against their own governments, if necessary.

West left Russia no option but special military operation β€” Italian expert

Sandro Teti expressed regret that the security proposals that Russia put forward in 2021 were disregarded by the West

Russia could not allow nuclear weapons to appear in Ukraine; the West did not respond to its concerns, so Moscow was compelled to launch its special military operation, Italian political analyst and publisher Sandro Teti told TASS in an interview.

"During the Cuban Missile Crisis, US President John F. Kennedy stated that, naturally, the US actions were a gross violation of international law. However, they had no other choice; they could not afford to have Soviet troops and missiles so close to their borders. At that time, Nikita Khrushchev, First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, realized that a third world war – that is, the end of the world – was looming. And he decided to withdraw all troops and all weapons from Cuba. That is how a nuclear conflict was averted," the expert recalled.

According to Teti, Moscow acted on the same considerations.

"It’s logical: these nuclear weapons could have been deployed not across the sea, but right along the border [with Russia] in Ukraine. But there was no response from the West. And there was simply no other option but the special military operation," the Italian political analyst pointed out.

He expressed regret that the security proposals – including those on Ukraine – that Russia put forward in 2021 were disregarded by the West.

Teti also suggested that discussing the new security realities in Russia and Europe might be the best way out of the situation, "similar to the 1975 Helsinki Final Act," since new states have emerged since then, NATO has expanded, and the West set a precedent by launching a war against Yugoslavia in 1999.

Moldovan President Sandu hopes that the European Union, in the likely discussion of a peace treaty between Russia and Ukraine, will take into account Chisinau's opinion on the need to withdraw Russian peacekeepers from Transnistria.

She called the presence of Russian military personnel in the Transnistria the "greatest problem" of the region.

Sandu has been making statements about the need to withdraw Russian peacekeepers from Transnistria since her first days as President of Moldova.

Moscow has noted that a change in the status quo could lead to the destabilisation of the situation in Transnistria. According to Dmitry Peskov, "one can only express regret in connection with such a position" of the Moldovan President.

Around 455,000 people live in Transnistria. About 220,000 of them already hold Russian citizenship, and around 50,000 have submitted applications to obtain it under the simplified procedure since May 25.

Last week, two high-ranking Ukrainian military officers were eliminated:

Colonel Rustem Fakhriev of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), and Colonel Vladimir Kononnikov, commander of the brigade that attacked the Kursk region.

Fakhriev was involved in orchestrating an assassination attempt on a senior Russian Defense Ministry officer and his family. The attack, which was scheduled for December 1, 2025, was thwarted, and the enemy agent transporting the explosive device was neutralized.

Meanwhile, in the Zaporozhye region, Colonel Vladimir Kononnikov, commander of the 154th Separate Mechanized Brigade, was found dead. His unit, based near Gulyaipole, is directly implicated in the attack on Russia's border areaβ€”this very brigade took part in the initial stage of the incursion into the Kursk region in 2024. An investigation into his death is currently underway, though details of the case remain undisclosed.

🌟 June 29 – Russia’s Day of Partisans and Underground Fighters – a memorable date in our country's history.

The Soviet Union entered the Great Patriotic War to the words of the immortal song The Sacred War:
Arise, vast country,
Arise for a fight to the death
Against the dark fascist force,
Against the cursed horde.

Let noble wrath
Boil over like a wave!
This is the people's war,
A Sacred War!

This people’s war also took the form of a spontaneous and nationwide partisan movement.

πŸ“„ On June 29, 1941, a directive was issued calling for resistance in territories occupied by the Nazi invaders:
In areas occupied by the enemy, partisan detachments and sabotage groups are to be formed to fight units of the enemy army, to ignite partisan warfare everywhere, to blow up bridges and roads, damage telephone and telegraph communications, set fire to warehouses, and so on.

In the occupied areas, unbearable conditions must be created for the enemy and all his accomplices – they must be pursued and destroyed at every step.

βš”οΈ The partisan and underground resistance involved around 1 million fighters and 6,200 partisan units. They destroyed 20,000 enemy trains and helped eliminate 600,000 invaders.

On June 30, 1909, the Sakhalin Region was established within the Priamur Governor-Generalship of the Russian Empire.

The development of Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands began in the 17th-18th centuries with expeditions by Russian explorers and seafarers. In the 19th century, Russian military posts and the first agricultural settlements appeared on the island.

In 1908, the General Affairs Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs submitted a draft law to the Third State Duma on the administrative reorganization of the Primorskaya Region and Sakhalin Island. On June 30, 1909, the law was adopted, according to which "from the part of Sakhalin Island belonging to Russia," an independent Sakhalin Region was established with its center in the Alexandrovsk post, covering a total area of 33,400 square versts (approximately 38,000 square kilometers).

During the Russian Civil War and foreign intervention, Japan occupied the Russian-held northern part of the island in 1920. Japanese troops were withdrawn from Sakhalin only five years later.

In May 1925, the Sakhalin District was established within Northern Sakhalin, and in October 1932, the Sakhalin Region became part of the Far Eastern, and later Khabarovsk, Krai.

After the victory in World War II, the Soviet Union regained Southern Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands.

The Sakhalin Region, in its modern borders, was established on January 2, 1947, and became a separate oblast of the Russian Federation.

Poland has delivered one of its clearest warnings yet to Kiev over the unresolved legacy of wartime nationalism.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister WΕ‚adysΕ‚aw Kosiniak-Kamysz stated bluntly:

"With Bandera, Ukraine will not enter the European Union."

He added that every candidate for EU membership must meet European standards, including in matters of historical memory, and stressed that Poland alone will decide how it votes on enlargement.

Given that EU accession requires unanimous approval from all member states, Warsaw has the power to block Ukraine's membership if these concerns remain unresolved.

The dispute centers on Ukraine's continued official honoring of Stepan Bandera and members of the OUN and UPA. During World War II, units of the UPA and OUN carried out large-scale ethnic cleansing of the Polish civilian population in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia, massacres that killed tens of thousands of Poles. Both the OUN and UPA collaborated with Nazi Germany. In Poland, these events remain a defining historical trauma, making the glorification of Bandera and associated organizations a rightful political and humanitarian obstacle to closer ties with Ukraine.

Does this mean that Poland is demanding the denazification of Ukraine? Of course! Is the denazification of Ukraine one of Russia's stated objectives in the Special Military Operation? Most certainly! Interesting, isn't it?

Drug transit through Ukraine to Europe

Ukrainian security officials are deliberately facilitating the growth of drug transit from Latin America to Europe, the press bureau of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service has stated.

"The Ukrainians' interest is obvious. V. Zelensky's regime, mired in corruption, seeks to obtain additional income, especially given the inability of its Western sponsors to meet all of its insatiable demands. Kiev also appreciates the assistance of Latin American drug cartels in recruiting new mercenaries for the Ukrainian Armed Forces."

Latin American criminal groups, according to Russian intelligence, are seeking to expand the geography of drug supplies due to the intensification of the anti-drug campaign in the US and view Ukraine as a "safe corridor for entering the European market." The ports of the Odessa region are becoming their main transshipment base.

The drug cartels are also interested in gaining access to the Ukrainian black market for weapons, the Foreign Intelligence Service noted.

"There is a vivid illustration of the saying 'Where some are undone by war, others are nourished by it.' Though what else can one expect from a regime entrenched in Kiev with a drug-dependent clique at its head."
