Jobs and Professions (B1)
As has been the case for many years, jobs, or forms of employment wherein employees perform a service or duty in exchange for financial compensation, play a prominent role in society. Furthermore, all jobs—even those of seemingly little significance—are important, as they simply wouldn’t exist if their specific responsibilities weren’t of value to employers (companies or persons that pay others for their work), customers (individuals who pay money for a product or service), and the economy generally.

Can we use both some and any in questions?
♨️ Would you like some more coffee?
🔆 Would you like any more to eat?
❇️ Here the difference is very small. The speaker is thinking of a limited amount in the first question, and an unlimited amount in the second question. In both questions we could use some or any.
❇️ Sometimes we use some when we expect the answer to be “yes”. We use any when we don’t know what the answer will be; we are asking whether something exists.
🔹 Can I have some sugar? (I know there’s some sugar)
🔸 Is there any cake left? (I don’t know whether there’s any cake)
🔹 Are you waiting for somebody? (I think you are)
🔸 Is anybody coming to meet you? (I don’t know)

Anastasia Radzinskaya is an unlikely media star. Born in southern Russia with cerebral palsy, her doctors feared she would never be able to speak. To document her development through treatments, her parents posted videos of her on YouTube so friends and relatives could see the progress.
The videos are typical kid stuff: playdates with dad, jumping around on an inflatable castle and playing with her cat, each video accompanied by catchy jingles and voice-over giggles. Her biggest hit was a 2018 trip to the petting zoo with her father Yuri that featured the two dancing to child favorite “Baby Shark,” milking a pretend cow and eating ice cream. That video has garnered 767 million views, the top draw for a growing media business that has funneled $18 million to the Radzinskayas between June 1, 2018, and June 1, 2019.
That’s a pretty good showing for a 5-year-old, but not quite as good as 8-year-old Ryan Kaji, this year’s top YouTube earner with $26 million. @news_in_levels_video

The British CitizenshipTest
Could you pass the test to live in the UK?
Have you ever thought about living in Britain? These days, anyone who wants to settle there has to take the “Life in the UK Test”. But what’s it all about? The exam covers a wide range of topics. There are questions on British politics, pop music, customs, where Father Christmas is from (the North Pole), what the emergency services number is (999), and what to do if you spill someone’s pint in the pub (you’re supposed to buy them another one!).
Do the test, choosing the options (a / b) for the questions (1 to 9) and learn GLOSSARY
1. Someone treads on your foot on the Underground. What do you say?
a) “Ow! Be careful!”
b) “Sorry!”

How to Learn English Grammar
With all the rules and guidelines governing the use of English grammar, it’s little wonder that so many people find the subject intimidating. Grammar is a complex structure, so before you learn how to compose great pieces of English writing or speech, you need to understand the grammar building blocks leading up to more complex forms. With enough time, effort, and practice, though, you can eventually become a master of English grammar.
