Israeli jets killed Ali Shadmani, Iran's top military officer and top commander close to Supreme Leader Khamenei, in an airstrike deep inside Tehran.
Shadmani headed Iran's military emergency staff and oversaw both the IRGC and the army. He was appointed after his predecessor, Alam Ali Rashid, was killed in the initial strikes.

#BREAKING 🇮🇱 ❌ 🇮🇷 — An Israeli man records a video of an impact saying it's in Glilot where the Mossad and 8200 unit bases are, he further claimed that Iran has successfully hit the base.
🇮🇱🇮🇷⚡️ The Iranian missile attack today appears to have struck at the Israeli intelligence apparatus, targeting the HQ of Mossad. Also nearby is the 8200 Unit as well as Shin Bet.
He said the uranium enrichment centrifuges could have been "severely damaged, if not completely destroyed" not by the strikes but by power outages following the destruction of the ground station.

All the rockets hit at a distance of 600 to 1000 meters away from the headquarters - one fell near the road, another on the warehouse premises of "Camp Herzog", the third on the water treatment plant, and the fourth near the skyscraper.
If the Iranian missiles had been accurate enough, they could have easily achieved all of their desired targets, since Israeli air defenses clearly failed.

"Not only was Iran not actively developing a nuclear weapon, it was also three years away from being able to produce and deliver one to its chosen target," the sources said.
The Americans believe that the Israeli airstrikes delayed the Iranian nuclear program by only a few months. Israel caused significant damage to Iran's Natanz facility, which houses centrifuges needed to enrich uranium, but left a second, heavily fortified uranium enrichment facility at Fordow largely untouched.
Military experts say Israel has no way to damage Fordow without specialized U.S. weapons and air support.
"As US intelligence agencies and the IAEA assess the damage Israel has caused to Iran's nuclear facilities, there are concerns that the strike could push Iran to do something US officials believe it has not done before: build a nuclear weapon," CNN writes.
