Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani Leads Service and Engineering Effort Team's High-Level Meeting to Discuss Progress in Baghdad and Iraq's Governorates

Today, Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani presided over a meeting of the Service and Engineering Effort Team, where they discussed the progress and works undertaken in Baghdad and other governorates.
The Prime Minister listened to a comprehensive presentation on the achievements and implementation rates, as well as the obstacles that have impeded the completion of the work. The bills of quantities related to projects until May 21, 2023, were also examined. In response, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to overcome obstacles across all aspects of the work.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his belief that this team, with its exceptional work style, instills hope and brings joy to the citizens. Despite encountering certain obstacles, the overall outcome has been positive, meeting high standards. The Prime Minister emphasized that if the financial resources allocated to the service effort are invested wisely and through proper procedures, it will mark a significant advancement, constituting a quantum leap within the 2023 budget. His Excellency instructed the team to resolve the remaining projects, and prepare for the next plan in light of the field survey.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister reiterated the importance of prioritizing projects in their implementation. Special attention was directed towards prioritizing primary sewage projects. His Excellency instructed to operate government asphalt plants to provide for the demand of service efforts projects. Additionally, Baghdad Governorate was tasked with carrying out strategic projects due to the delay in the federal budget approval.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani commended the dedicated efforts of all team members and acknowledged the positive impact they have made in the areas where projects have been implemented so far.

رعى رئيس مجلس الوزراء السيد محمد شياع السوداني الاحتفال المركزي المقام بمناسبة مئوية الشاعرة العراقية الكبيرة ورائدة الشعر العربي الحديث نازك الملائكة، الذي أقيم في بغداد، بحضور عدد من الأدباء والمثقفين العراقيين والعرب.
وألقى سيادته في الاحتفال كلمة في ما يلي أبرز ما جاء فيها:
🔷 اصبحت نازك الملائكة عنواناً للتغيير الأدبي الذي يحمل مشروعاً ثقافياً بعمق التحولات الاجتماعية التي عاصرتها، وبمستوى حاجة الثقافة العراقية والعربية إلى التغيير.
🔷 تمكنت نازك الملائكة، برغم الصعوبات والمُحددات والقوالبِ الأدبيةِ الجامدة، من إنتاج صور شعرية نحو انطلاقة فكرية حديثة.
🔷 وجّهنا قبل أكثر من شهرين كلَّ مدارس العراق بأن تكون كلمة يوم الخميس صباحاً موحدةً عن نازك الملائكة، ودور المرأة في بناء المجتمع، وذلك بمناسبة مرور 100 عام على ولادتها.
🔷 تم تكليف أحد النحاتين العراقيين بعمل تمثال كبير للشاعرة سيُنصب في إحدى ساحات بغداد.
🔷 وجهنا دائرة البريد بإصدار طابع بريدي عليه صورة نازك الملائكة وذكرى مئويتها.
🔷 لن يكفّ العراق عن ولادة المبدعين والأدباء، وهم ثروتنا التي لا تنضبُ بإبداعهم.
🔷 تتوافق ذكرى ولادة نازك الملائكة مع حلول الذكرى المئوية لتأسيسِ كلية التربية/ ابن رشد، التي تخرجت فيها نازك الملائكة، ورفدت العراق بخيرة العقول التي أسست مجداً أكاديمياً، سواءٌ بمسماها القديم (دار المعلمين العالية) أو حين صارت تحمل اسم كلية التربية/ ابن رشد.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani attended the central celebration held in Baghdad to mark the centenary of the remarkable Iraqi poet and trailblazer of modern Arabic poetry, Nazik Al-Malaika. The event saw the esteemed presence of numerous Iraqi and Arab writers, intellectuals, and literary figures.
The following are highlights from His Excellency’s speech at the ceremony:
🔷 Nazik Al-Malaika's literary prowess sparked a profound cultural shift, addressing the pressing need for change within Iraqi and Arab culture.
🔷 Nazik Al-Malaika triumphed over challenges, constraints, and literary norms, harnessing her poetic prowess to create captivating imagery that heralded a remarkable modern intellectual breakthrough.
🔷 Two months ago, Iraqi schools received a directive to dedicate the Thursday morning speech to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Nazik Al-Malaika's birth to honor her influential legacy and recognize the invaluable contribution of women in building a strong and vibrant society.
🔷 An Iraqi sculptor has been commissioned to create a statue in honor of poet Nazik Al-Malaika. This remarkable sculpture will be placed in one of Baghdad's vibrant squares, serving as a timeless tribute to her extraordinary literary contributions.
🔷 To honor the centenary of Nazik Al-Malaika's birth, the Postal Department has been directed to issue a special postage stamp featuring her portrait.
🔷 Iraq continues to nurture and inspire an abundance of creators and writers who represent an invaluable and inexhaustible wealth with their boundless creativity.
🔷 The anniversary of Nazik Al-Malaika coincides with the centenary celebration of the founding of the College of Education Ibn Rushd. The establishment had a profound influence on remarkable individuals and educational institutions in shaping Iraq's intellectual and literary heritage. This institution has consistently nurtured exceptional minds and contributed to Iraq's academic eminence. Throughout its history, both as Dar al-Mu'allim al-'Alia in the past and as the College of Education / Ibn Rushd today, this esteemed institution has consistently fostered intellectual brilliance, making significant contributions to our nation's educational landscape.
🔷 The government remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering cultural development. We actively monitor the needs and concerns of writers, artists, and intellectuals, holding regular meetings to ensure their voices are heard, and their endeavors are supported.
🔷 We will soon launch an initiative aimed at supporting cinema, drama, theater, book printing, children's literature, music, and various literary and artistic activities.
