AI is everywhere 👻

That’s the theme of ITMO CONF, which took place at Nikolskiye Ryady today. How does AI unite science, education, and innovation? Watch the event’s broadcast here to find out (in Russian).

ITMO has been actively implementing AI in many fields. Let’s explore some recent AI-powered projects across various fields at the university:

🔎 Assess classroom capacity
ITMO Lens, a video analytics service, is already implemented at the university to evaluate classroom capacity through video feeds.

🌿 Discover new laws of nature
The digital tool EPDE by scientists from the Laboratory for Composite AI can identify new laws of nature. It articulates its findings through mathematical equations and suggests potential solutions, advancing our understanding of natural phenomena.

🧬 Identify anti-cancer nanoparticles
ITMO SCAMT chemists have developed an AI-based platform that identifies nanoparticles with selective cytotoxicity to cancer cells. This innovation aims to minimize the side effects associated with cancer treatments.

🥼 Open new labs
At the laboratory of Generative Design of Enzymes and Aptamers launched earlier this year, researchers will develop AI-based tools for creating molecular machines.

🤝 Create international alliances
During the visit of China’s Minister of Education, Huai Jinpeng, ITMO Rector Vladimir Vasilyev proposed the establishment of a Russian-Chinese AI alliance. This organization will facilitate cooperation among top professionals from both countries.
