ITMO’s Faculty of Physics, in collaboration with Skoltech and MFTI, is hosting a workshop designed to enhance your knowledge and skills in nanophotonics.
The program features lectures by leading scientists and hands-on workshops focused on the theoretical modeling of resonant nanophotonic systems. Participants will gain practical experience in using numerical and analytical modeling techniques to investigate the optical properties of plasmonic and semiconductor resonant nanostructures.
Subjects include:
• Resonant Mie Nanophotonics
• Carbon Nanostructures for Light Emission
• Novel 2D Optical Materials
• Optical Resonances in Chiral and Anisotropic Systems

Representatives of the Vietnam Embassy in Russia meet ITMO students 🇻🇳
On May 22, Mai Nguyen Tuyet Hoa, First Secretary of the Embassy of Vietnam in Russia for Educational Affairs, met with ITMO students from Vietnam and representatives of ITMO International Office.
The meeting was organized with the assistance of Anastasia Ivanova, a leading specialist from the Committee on External Relations of St. Petersburg.
During the event, the participants discussed the experiences of Vietnamese students at ITMO as well as the prospects for educational cooperation, including student exchange programs, promotion of ITMO in Vietnam, and future educational initiatives.

International students attend awards ceremony in Moscow 🏆
ITMO students Ricardo Augusto, Ramin Jalalpoor, and Hasan Dabbas were honored as prize winners at the awards ceremony of the poetry contest Victory in the Hearts of Generations.
The event took place at the Victory Museum in Moscow. After receiving their awards, the invitees enjoyed a guided tour of the museum’s exhibition commemorating the Great Patriotic War.
Afterwards the students, along with other winners from universities across Russia, traveled to St. Petersburg to explore the main sights in the city and its suburbs.

I’ve always been curious about the world. I’ve traveled a lot, and Russia has always fascinated me. It’s very different from the US. I had already visited several times before and wanted to improve my Russian. It’s spoken in many countries, so learning it really opens up a rich world of culture, literature, and geography.
