This is what he had to say about his study abroad experience:
It feels like I have burst out of a shell throughout this international experience. It has allowed me to come out of my comfort zone and taught me the daily life skills I need to survive. I have learned to navigate different social norms and can now collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds. It has also given me a sense of independence and the confidence to tackle challenges in both academic and personal life.

Don’t miss the station for international students at ITMO Universe ❤️
Our first-year Bachelor’s students are already learning various aspects of their future studies at the orientation days. Today there’ll be one more exciting station – Getting started for international students, made specifically for freshmen from other countries!
Here, you will get to know the university’s general rules, obtain insights into student life and Russian culture, and discover some useful student lifehacks. Send any questions that you will have before the event to t.me/ask_me_itmo and come to the station – to have all your questions answered.
📆 September 3, 7 pm
📍 Lomonosova St. 9, room 2202 (“church”)
🗣 Important: the station will be held in Russian
You won’t be in St. Petersburg yet to attend the event in person? Don’t worry!🐹
We have prepared a special game (available both in Russian and English) where you’ll be able to learn about the university and your studies in an interactive way, with all the key topics covered.
If you can’t attend ITMO Universe offline, completing the game is a mandatory step for you — but we promise it will be quick and enjoyable! All first-year students have received the link to the game in a newsletter.
You can also access it here (desktop only)➡️ ITMO Universe: The Game

The 22st Bike Ride with the Rector is tomorrow 🚴
First off, congratulations to our winner, Laith Ahmad, who gets a free bike for the day! Please DM us at @itmo_uni_dm to claim your prize.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the ride tomorrow! For the best experience, here are some tips if you weren’t able to secure a bike via the registration form:
🔵 The route may include areas restricted for kicksharing services. To avoid any issues, we recommend renting a regular bicycle rather than an e-bike/e-scooter.
🔵 Around the starting point of the ride, there are several designated parking areas of SmartBike, a stationless bike rental service. Be sure to download the app to check availability in advance!
🔵 Another option is to rent from Velomarka. In this case, you may find it more convenient to arrive via the Begovaya metro station and then get to the starting point by bike.
🔵 If you happen to be a bit late or can’t find the gathering point on the day of the ride, please contact Ivan.
