Even though this bike ride was memorable for everyone, it turned into a real adventure for our free bike rental winner, Tara Torbati, a Master’s student of robotics and AI.
“I wasn’t with the others on the ride itself. I went to get my free bike with my friends and my teacher, but my friends didn’t register for bikes beforehand – they had to rent scooters. Then, there were some problems with the payment and we arrived at the park late and missed the others. My teacher didn’t remember the full route of the ride, so eventually we decided to just meet everyone on the way back – and we did,” she shares.
“I really like the idea of this event. It seems like a great way to socialize with other students and ITMO staff and make new friends. And the beautiful weather and scenery just add to it,” adds Tara.

[It] was a very pleasant experience. Usually, I am a very shy person and I have a lot of trouble speaking in front of strangers, but I somehow gathered my courage to face the audience and recite my poem well. This experience helped me overcome my shyness to a great extent.
