Big wins, new challenges, and more β hereβs whatβs been happening at ITMO this week π
π€ St. Petersburg-based team Sputnik Original became the first-ever Russian winners of FIRST Tech Challenge after competing with 256 teams from around the globe.
π§ The Russian national team, mentored by legendary ITMO coach Andrey Stankevich, bagged 24 medals at the International Advanced Tournament in Informatics in Bulgaria.
π Students of ITMOβs Artificial Intelligence Technologies Faculty cracked the top three at Data Fusion Contest, a high-profile contest for data scientists.
π§ͺ At the ITMO-hosted finals of 10th National Technology Olympiad, school students tackled real-world challenges in infochemistry and fintech.

Dear international students!
By July 1, 2025 all foreign citizens must re-register their SIM cards using biometric data. Otherwise, your phone number will be deactivated!
Step-by-step guide:
1β£ Apply for and receive your SNILS (individual insurance account number) by writing to the Student Services Office at so@itmo.ru. In the subject line, write βSNILSβ and your ISU ID number, and in the body of the letter provide a scan of your passport and its notarized translation into Russian.
2β£ Make sure that you have a personal account on the Gosuslugi platform.
You can create one at any of the multifunctional centers for public services (ΠΠ€Π¦) (find a list of locations here).
Necessary documents:
π£ passport
π£ notarized translation of the passport
π£ SNILS
π£ migration card
π£ migration registration
Ask the staff to create a verified Gosuslugi account. A simplified Gosuslugi account will not work for biometric registration.
3β£ Register your biometric data at any convenient branch of a bank (find the list here) at which you already have a banking account.
What to bring:
π΄ passport
π΄ notarized translation of your passport
π΄ your SNILS
π΄ migration card
π΄ migration registration.
You must also have access to your personal page on the Gosuslugi platform and to your email inbox.
4β£ Visit a branch of your mobile plan provider with the following documents:
π‘ passport
π‘ notarized translation of your passport, your SNILS, your migration card
π‘ migration registration.
You must also have access to your personal page on the Gosuslugi platform and have confirmed your biometric data at the bank. The staff will provide you with a contract that you should familiarize yourself with and sign.
You may be asked to provide your phoneβs IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) code. To do this, call *#06# on your phone and the code will be shown on screen.
5β£ Activate your SIM card at the mobile providerβs office or on your own via Gosuslugi.
If you have any questions or requests, get in touch with the International Students Learning and Support Center via int.students@itmo.ru.
