Growing with ITMO 🚀

For Marcos from Mexico, coming to St. Petersburg has proven a valuable experience even before the start of his studies. About his Foundation Program experience, he shares:

It was both challenging and rewarding. It helped me adapt to a new environment and provided an opportunity to meet students from different countries, learn about their cultures, and build friendships that I hope will last throughout my studies.

A handy post for our prospective students ✏️

If you plan to join ITMO or have a question about a program or your application, we’ve made a list of the essential resources you may need:

🟡abit.itmo.ru is the main admissions website. Here, you can find a list of programs for the upcoming academic year and submit your documents via your personal account.

🟡at int.itmo.ru, you’ll find step-by-step application guides for future Bachelor’s and Master’s students of Russian-taught programs, as well as international Master’s programs (taught in English). There’s also a page dedicated to migration requirements for your arrival in Russia.

🟡and in this post, we’ve compiled the key info about joining the Foundation Program. The course fees are 280,000 rubles (as of 2026).

Who to get in touch with? Depends on your request!

🟢program-specific questions (e.g. content, career prospects) can be addressed to a program manager, whose contacts are available on each program’s page.

🟢int.students@itmo.ru – for prospective Bachelor’s and Master’s students of Russian-taught programs or Foundation Program.

🟢international@itmo.ru – for inquiries about international Master’s programs.

🟢aspirantura@itmo.ru – regarding PhD programs.

🟢opendoors@itmo.ru – if you’re applying as a winner of the Open Doors scholarship.

🟢so@itmo.ru – transfers from other universities (for those studying on tuition-fee basis).

🟢and naturally, you can always DM us at @itmo_uni_dm; we’ll be happy to help connect you with the appropriate department for your question!
