Yesterday, our international freshmen got to know ITMO a little better! ❤️
As part of ITMO Universe, our adaptation days for first-year students, we hosted the station Getting Started for International Students.
In a quest-like format, participants learned about the university’s general rules and gained insights into student life and Russian culture from experienced students and representatives of various university departments. At the end, they received useful checklists to help them adapt and keep track of the important steps to take upon arrival.

👨🔬 Scientists from ITMO’s Faculty of Physics and Institute of Photonics, in collaboration with researchers from Switzerland and China, have created a thin film that can switch light at speeds up to a billion times per second.
🧬 ITMO researchers have also proposed a new way to measure the durability of materials used in flexible electronics. The study was published in Applied Physics Letters.

• proof of your proficiency in the language of instruction (B2 or up)
• passport (valid till August 2028)
• consent from the head of your educational program (acquired before applying)
Students who have successfully passed the interview for academic exchange may receive financial aid for their stay abroad.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the ride tomorrow! As usual, here are some tips if you weren’t able to secure a bike via the registration form:
• The route may include areas restricted for kicksharing services. To avoid any issues, we recommend renting a regular bicycle rather than an e-bike/e-scooter.
• Around the starting point of the ride, there are several designated parking areas of SmartBike, a stationless bike rental service. Be sure to download the app to check availability in advance!
• Another option is to rent from Velomarka. In this case, you may find it more convenient to arrive via the Begovaya metro station and then get to the starting point by bike.
• If you happen to be a bit late or can’t find the gathering point on the day of the ride, please contact Ivan +7 981 778 2589

A new multimedia exhibition at the Museum of Moscow puts the spotlight on the women who challenged gender limitations and stereotypes in pursuit of science over the past 150 years.
Alongside their breakthroughs, the exhibition explores the doubts, experiments, and curiosity behind scientific discovery. Its contemporary art section was curated by ITMO’s Art & Science Center.
