and that was it for hunan, next (and sadly last) stop in our trip : beijing!

it was fun seeing xto bring out this whole new beijingren personality i hadn't seen before: he would scream and confront everyone because apparently that's the only way for others to take you seriously...

although not as fun realizing that we wouldn't be able to visit the forbiden city because we didn't make a reservation!

also fun being back after 7 years! since i was first in beijing back in 2018 for a xiaomi event!

both xto and his mum have this thing for kinda hating beijing, so they had to make sure that we only ate fancy food so that i didn't get a even worse impression of the city...

(they achieved their objective, i'm still thinking about that pekin duck skin/caviar/foie gras dish...)

since we couldn't see the forbiden city, i made sure to drag xto to the great wall of china!

we then headed back to beijing for some more urban exploration around the 2008 olympic stadium (trying out apparently some harbin popsticles?!), before meeting with regyna (that we saw first back in lijiang!) for dinner some proper dongbei food!
