and to finish the month... i started my new job at Q42!

a dutch digital agency working in all sort of mobile & web projects like HEMA, PostNL, Rijksmuseum and more!

i was very nervous but the first day went well! everyone was very nice (and REALLY TALL!) and despite being the only non-dutch speaker i felt very welcomed. sebas (a spaniard that does speak dutch) was my onboarding buddy and he definitely made me feel at ease. the first project i would be working on was HeartEye a portable ECG scanner ❤️

day 2 started strong with a message in the main company #general channel asking me to start speaking dutch in the public chats so that the company's official language didn't degrade into english 😭

i know that she didn't have bad intentions but that was a strong onboarding process for sure to the dutch directness...

anyhow, i headed to haarlem in the afternoon for visiting the place of the dead person 💀

and decided to apply right after! (we had already been rejected from too many places and we wanted to move in anywhere...)

and to my surprise, i managed to drag myself to the gym after two months not having touched it! wao, consistency 🤡

- visited Q42's second office in the hage while they were having their yearly hackathon and got my first corporate massage! truly the best company perk of Q42
- it was nice that i got some company merch in the office including some sweatpants, because my trousers DOUBLE CRACKED on the bike back to the station...
- what wasn't that fun either was that NS cancelled the last TWO trains of the day for going back to almere and i had to take a taxi! back then i didn't know i could have get this reimbursed since it was nuisance caused by NS. all of this after waiting for over an hour in the freezing platform 🥶
