💡 Why option premiums often drop after results

Before results, option prices carry extra implied volatility (IV) because a big move is possible.

Once the numbers are out, the uncertainty is gone and IV falls quickly. This is IV crush.

Example: if IV falls from 45% to 30% overnight, an at-the-money option can lose a large part of its premium even if the stock barely moves.
