SB 70 is the Kansas Senate version of the Open Records and Open Meetings bill. It requires the live streaming of the public comments at governing body meetings.
This is sadly needed, because in counties like Johnson, the Board of Commissioners refuses to live stream public comments, making it hard for the public to know what the County Commissioners is trying to keep suppressed from the public that tunes to watch at work.
Not everyone can attend in person, but they have a right to know what is being shared at them.
