💱 What looks like a simple number at a currency exchange holds the state of an entire economy behind it.

Central banks and governments can move a rate through monetary and fiscal policy, and the rate itself responds to inflation, GDP, and the trade balance. Some countries let their currency float, while others keep it fixed. The UAE and Qatar, for example, peg theirs to the US dollar 🌍

The new article explains what drives currency pairs and how traders can put that to use.

📅 A year has 365 days. Only about 252 of them are trading days, at least on US exchanges.

That number comes from simple arithmetic. Take all the weekdays in a year, subtract the market holidays, and 252 is what remains. So, annual return and volatility are calculated on 252 days, not 365 📉

The new article shows how the number is calculated and how trading calendars differ from one exchange to another.

🎯 Measure your trades in units of risk, not in dollars.

Your results go in units of initial risk instead of money: −1R, +2R, +4R. That makes trades easier to compare and lets you backtest the system regardless of position size 📊

One small change makes your statistics far more reliable.

📉 The price is rising, but indicator values are falling. That's divergence—a potential sign that the current trend is losing momentum.

The RSI measures momentum and helps identify overbought and oversold conditions. Bullish divergence occurs when the price declines while the RSI rises, suggesting selling pressure is weakening. Bearish divergence is the opposite: the price increases while the RSI drops, reflecting weakening buying momentum ⚡️

But don't rush into a trade based on divergence alone. Divergence can appear well before a reversal and requires confirmation from volume and key levels.

Discover how to distinguish classic divergence from hidden divergence and how to avoid common traps caused by false signals.
