The Tattered Bag.....
Me and my friend here have been through alot. Been on many journeys. Seen many a thing. If you look closely you will see how he is blood stained and torn in a few places but nonetheless he has been a worthy companion.
Today I begin to go through an ageold ritual. I begin to pack him with my essentials. Im not exactly sure how many days we will be gone, neither am I sure of exactly what is going to happen, nor if we will return to our loved ones!
Hospitals are being obliterated, children are being killed as we speak and the worst thing is that nobody knows. None of us really wants to go but we feel we have no choice. It is our duty to try and help our Ummah and Our Duty to show you what takes place!
In the next few hours we will be heading deep into wartorn Syria. Travelling at night is not easy, navigating through villages and cities with no electric and battered roads is hard enough, but then we have to drive our ambulances with the lights off, the reason: so machine gunner war planes dont light us up instead! Alhamdulillah for today though as we have the moonlight so please keep us in your duas!!

I question myself.
Why I am sharing this with you all?
I make dua to Allah the owner of the universe. The master of the seven heavens. The creator of the day and the night to protect me from Riya (Pride).
This is for your sake, and for your sake only, for the sanctity of your deen, for the sanctity of the blood of the muslims, inshallah.
I understand that people have seen too many pictures of dead bodies all over their facebook feeds and this is why I choose to give you a different perspective. Its important that you see the steps that we go through so that you can relate. Sometimes it seems as if we are walking into an uncertain death, but this is not suicide my dear brothers and sisters, this is for a greater cause inshallah.
I want you to know that I also am a HUMAN!
I also feel,
I too have a family,
I live in a home,
I have beautiful children that I have been blessed with,
I miss them,
I fear for them if I wont be there one day to protect them........
but yet I have to go.
Why?
because of all of our brothers and sisters who are silently suffering, many of them breathing their last breath, right now as you read this, their souls departing and returning back to their lord.
Maybe they never had a chance to wrap things up like me now, to write one final testament...
This is another ageold ritual. I take my pen and begin to write.
What will I leave my family?
To whom do I owe debts?
Instructions for Racquell for what to do in an emergency.
Instructions for the team on how to continue the projects.
and finally I write for forgiveness for all that I may have hurt or upset whether directly or indirectly.

Alhamdulillah just arrived a short while ago! Its 7am now.
Last nights journey driving here to the frontlines was chaos! it was a tough journey we had to repeatedly stop as bombing was taking place around us. 13 war planes in the sky. We lost our way a few times driving in the dark without lights which here in Syria can result in the end of your life pretty easily. if you take a wrong turn here you could end up in regime territory.
Alhamdulillah after a tough night we finally made it to Hospital Q.
Never been anywhere quite like this.

Ok so its been a crazy night we just arrived a short while ago.....
I cannot tell you where we are unfortunately for security reasons. For now we will call it Hospital Q a coded name.
Hospitals here are prime targets for the Russians and Syrian regimes. What I can say though is that this hospital if thats what we want to call it is in the basements of a complex of smashed up buildings. The facilities here are very poor to say the least, it feels like being in a cross between an old haunted cinema and a prison.
There is an eery feeling about this place, the looks in the peoples eyes, their tired faces, dust covered clothes.....
the doctors here have tried to clear out as many patients as possible and send them home or to other hospitals further out. The atmosphere is tense many here feel that this hospital is just waiting to be hit. I see people sleeping in corridoors waiting for their loved ones. I see a ward full of injured children that cannot be moved out of here for whatever reason. I am told this is one of the biggest hospitals in free Syria. It is not pretty but it seems like this place is an old war horse wounded and battered but somehow just managing.

Just seen a young man have his life saved. The doctors here are amazing mashallah. Real lions. The guys heart stopped and if it wasnt for this frontline mobile unit and these brave medics he would of died as the nearest hopital was around 30km away!
