📆From 15 Sep 2026, we will introduce a new lodgement service for overnight parking of heavy vehicles 🚛

This provides businesses more parking options, in addition to what is allowed under the Vehicle Parking Certificate (VPC) scheme today.

⚠️Take note:
✔️ You can only make a lodgement within private and non-residential premises.
✔️ You must submit the lodgement via LTA's OneMotoring website.
✔️ You must submit proof of parking consent from the premises owner

Each lodgement is valid for up to two years at no fee and successful lodgement will be deemed as meeting overnight parking requirements under the VPC scheme for transactions such as new vehicle registration, transfer of ownership, and road tax renewals.

🚨Owners who opt for the lodgement service will be responsible to ensure that their heavy vehicles comply with parking rules and do not cause public disamenities or pose safety hazards to others.

This Week in Transport 🚶🚴🚌🚇🚗 – 17 Sep 2026

1️⃣ North-South Corridor (NSC) Update
Over 90% foundation works for NSC are done. Building alongside live MRT lines, utilities, and buildings, and facing some unexpected ground conditions, we’ve had to adjust our construction methods along the way. More time is needed to complete the project safely. 🕐

🗓️ Viaduct (Admiralty Rd West to Lentor Ave): 2029 onwards
📅 Tunnel (Lentor Ave to ECP): 2031 onwards

2️⃣ Crackdown on Illegal Cross-Border Ride-Hailing Services
Recently, we caught 6 drivers at land checkpoints, Changi Airport and Yew Tee. We impounded their vehicles.

Look who has landed in Singapore! 👀

Fresh off the plane from the US, we're welcoming Waymo as Singapore's newest autonomous vehicle (#AV) operator, joining ComfortDelGro and Grab. 🚗🛜

What’s next? From 2027, Waymo's AVs will start getting to know our roads through initial manual driving before commercial ride-hailing services are targeted for launch in 2028.

More operators mean more opportunities to grow Singapore’s AV industry and, overtime, give commuters more transport choices. As we move forward, safety and public trust will remain our priorities.

➡️ #RestAssured We’re also supporting our drivers through this AV transition. Together with our tripartite partners and operators, we’re helping drivers upskill and transition to new roles, including opportunities in the growing AV sector.

AV deployment will be paced alongside efforts to support drivers and prepare them for new opportunities as the industry evolves. 🤝
