Pallipuram Fort
The Pallipuram Fort is one of the ancient European fort to be seen in India. Situated on the Vypeen island this fort is also called the ayikkotta .It was constructed in 1506 by the Portuguese and it was named after a nearby Manjumatha church.
In 1663 the Dutch captured this fort and later in 1798 it was purchased by the Travancore kings to safeguard their lands from the Mysore rulers

The region of Malappuram is full of backwater lakes created inland, and one of the most famous ones in the region is the Biyyam Kayal. Located close to Ponnani in the Malappuram district has recently been revamped to the status of an adventure zone of the area.
The local councils have set up facilities of a number of adventure and water sports here, like Speedboats and water scooter rides. Apart from these, there are a number of rest houses on the bank of the lake as well, visited highly by locals at the time of Onam.

Fort St. Angelo situated at a distance of 3 kms from Kannur was commissioned by the first Portuguese Viceroy, Don Francisco De Almeida in 1505. Later the fort came under the control of British rulers in 1790. During this period the fort was renovated and equipped to make it the most important military station in Malabar. While standing atop the fort complex one can enjoy the spectacular view of the Dharmadom lsland and Moppila Bay. The Kunnar fort is built facing the Arabian sea and offers the visitors with majestic sunrise and sunset views.
