X – double crochet into front loop of the stitch in the row of the same color below
s – single crochet into back loop of the stitch
(Xs) = X + s
(Xsss) = X + s + s + s
(X5s) = X + s + s + s + s + s
(X7s) = X + s + s + s + s + s + s + s
(X9s) = X + s + s + s + s + s + s + s + s + s
The number and the group in brackets means how many times to repeat the group in brackets.
3(Xs) = (Xs) + (Xs) + (Xs)

How to embed charts in Excel for further drawing.

1. Open Excel.
2. In the menu, find "Page layout".
3. Next, click on "Background".
4. Choose "From a file", "Browse".
5. Find your file on your computer and click "Insert". The picture will appear on the sheet and multiply. Don't be afraid, it is normal.
6. Next, adjust the table grid (the height and width of the cells) under the picture. In order to do it, click on the empty field in the upper left corner (the intersection of the numbering of columns and rows). Next, click the mouse between the columns and drag in the direction of decreasing. Also adjust the height of the rows.
7. I always set the size of the cell 20 pixels and scale 50%. In fact, the size of cells on the sheet is 10 pixels, and the mouse pointer becomes small - so it is more convenient to click on cells. You can also see most of the field.
8. Fill the necessary cells with a contrast color that differs from the color of the chart.

Another thing I didn't mention is that the picture you insert must have 10 pixels cell size (it is for my Excel settings). You can do this in a graphic editor or in the program Paint.

How to resize a picture in Paint (see images in the Russian text).
1. Open the picture in Paint.
2. Click in the menu "Resize".
3. Switch to pixels.
4. Set the desired amount.
The original horizontal size of the picture is 1012 pixels. But I know that the size of the chart is 253 squares horizontally. Therefore, I set 2530 pixels horizontally in the field.
5. Next, click "Save As", "PNG Image"
