This talk explores how many of the pleasures we chase in daily lifeโwhether sensory enjoyment, material gain, or emotional gratificationโoften feel โsweetโ in the moment but can lead to dissatisfaction, dependence, and suffering over time.
Drawing on core Buddhist teachings, Ven. Malpane Udithadhamma Thero examines how attachment arises, why it binds the mind, and how it subtly conditions habits of craving that are difficult to break. Through relatable examples, the audience will be guided to recognise the difference between fleeting pleasure and lasting well-being.

Hello everyone! We will be having Sayalay Sujata with us next Monday to share about the 5 hindrances! Sayalay Sujata's Dhamma sharings are beginner-friendly, and we invite anyone who may be interested to join us :)
Sayalay Sujata is a Singaporean Theravฤda Buddhist nun, counsellor and Buddhist educator, ordained for over two decades with extensive monastic and meditation training in Myanmar.
Beneath our daily experiences, subtle mental patterns shape how we think, feel and respond to life. Recognising the underlying forces of the Five Hindrancesโdesire, aversion, dullness, restlessness and doubtโwhich can gradually obstruct clarity, inner freedom and a deeper sense of well-being, can help us to understand the mind better for greater balance, meaning and genuine happiness.
