⭐️ Telegram Stars Refund Bug Allegedly Exploited for $4.5M

The exploit reportedly took advantage of a refund vulnerability in Telegram Stars purchases. After purchasing Stars through a bot, the user could buy certain gifts and initiate a refund without the full amount being deducted from their balance.

The user reportedly cashed out around $1.5M before Telegram suspended gift transfers. The accumulated Stars were used to purchase premium gifts, including rare Plush Pepe NFTs.

⚠️ New vulnerability in Telegram Desktop

A vulnerability in Telegram Desktop versions earlier than 7.2.9 reportedly allows attackers to exploit specially crafted tg:// links to steal files without user confirmation.

The flaw could potentially expose sensitive documents, browser sessions, SSH keys, Telegram session data, and cryptocurrency wallets.

⁉️ How to protect yourself:

• Update Telegram Desktop to version 7.2.9 or later. Avoid unofficial clients until a fix is available.

• Enable a local passcode to help protect your Telegram session files from account hijacking if leaked.

• Enable Two-Step Verification in Telegram to add an extra layer of security to your account.

• Never share your Telegram session files or authentication codes with anyone.

⚠️ Ledger hit by a exploit, with alleged losses reaching $86M

Reports indicate that hundreds of wallets across Ethereum, TRON, and Bitcoin have reportedly been drained, with losses exceeding $86M. All Ledger models are allegedly affected.

Ledger has not yet confirmed a device exploit.

📣 Update: Ledger have addressed the exploit and supposedly linked it to south-east asian users who purchased products from a company called CryptoBillis.

This suggests that users who have no relation to this company are safe.
