Remove fod animation
For everyone who wants to remove fingerprint animation (that greatly decreases the time to unlock the device) you just have to:
1 - Install the app Settings Database Editor
2 - Open the app
3 - Add new setting
4 - fod_animation_type
5 - save
6 - set 4 as value
7 - save
No root required
To enable the animation again just remove that setting or edit the value (to 1 or 2)

INFORMATION RELATED TO SYSTEM A/B
by @ElTifo
Xiaomi Mi A3 is an A/B device. This means that it has 2 slots (a and b). On both slots you have partitions, so you have boot_a | boot_b; system_a | system_b; vendor_a | vendor_b; etc. There is only one partition that's shared bettween both slots, that's the userdata partition (where all user data is stored...apps, photos, etc). So this means that, there is always one active slot and another inactive. The inactive slot is the one used to be installed when an OTA arrives. That slot only will be marked as active after the OTA is installed and then you reboot the device. The previously inactive slot becomes the active one and vice-versa. So imagine this, you bought the phone. The phone is running everything on slot a. As soon as an OTA arrives it's installed on slot b. Solt b will become the active slot as soon as you reboot the device. But guess what, slot a has everything there anyways, so if you mess up slot b, you can go to fastboot and change the active slot to a. The phone will boot with the previous Android build version.
