‼️ Upcoming deadline for Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) fee waiver on 31 Mar 2026 ‼️
Many of us put off planning for the "what ifs" because we assume we have plenty of time. However, the window of opportunity to lock in essential legal safeguards without administrative costs is officially closing so don’t say bojio.
As reported recently in The Straits Times, the fee waiver for the LPA (a legal document that lets you appoint someone you trust to make decisions for you if you lose mental capacity) Form 1 application is scheduled to end on 31 March 2026.
https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/fee-waiver-for-lasting-power-of-attorney-applications-extended-to-end-of-march-2026
Why do it NOW?
✅ Save money: We all have to do it eventually, might as well save on the admin fees.
✅ Save time: Lesser time wasted on legal procedures when it matters the most.
✅ Protect your wishes: Ensure a trusted person is legally empowered to decide for you, rather than leaving it to the courts.
✅ Prevent family stress: Spare your loved ones from potential legal gridlock and disputes during an already difficult time.
If you or your parents have not done your LPA and are intending to get it done up properly, reply "LPA" and i will assist you accordingly! (And yes, LPA is for EVERYONE regardless of AGE)

🇺🇸 Trump Picks New Fed Chair to Lead the Federal Reserve 🤑
On Friday, President Trump nominated Kevin Warsh to succeed Jerome Powell as the next Chair of the Federal Reserve when Powell’s term ends in May 2026.
Trump, who has frequently criticized Powell for not lowering interest rates fast enough, praised Warsh as a leader who is expected to oversee a “regime change” at the central bank.
Once a staunch “inflation hawk,” Warsh has recently aligned with Trump by advocating for lower interest rates. Warsh argues that an AI-driven productivity boom will naturally keep inflation in check, providing the necessary cover for the cuts the White House desires.

If you care about your family, read this.
*Even if you already did your LPA, read this.* _I’ve been speaking about LPAs for the past 5 years, and I’ve helped to administer more than 100 LPAs in the past 5 years_
*If your LPA has 2 donees… you should be worried.*
Without a properly structured LPA, your family MUST go to court.
That usually means:
• 4–6 months waiting
• $8k–$15k legal + court fees
• Care bills running the whole time
Care in Singapore is expensive:
• $1.5k–$4k/month nursing
• $400–$500/month consumables
• $1k–$5k home modifications
• Someone may have to quit work or stress out to be a caregiver
You’re easily burning $20k–$50k+ before your family can even use your own money.
Most people think if something happens to them, their loved ones can just step in. They can’t..
If you lose mental capacity tomorrow,
your accounts freeze. Your spouse cannot touch your money. Your parents cannot access your funds. Nobody can sell your property. Family love doesn’t override law.
And younger clients need to hear this:
If your parents collapse tomorrow
you cannot act for them
unless they’ve done LPA.
Family is emotional.
Law is mechanical.
And here’s the part nobody tells you:
Even people who did LPA can still screw it up.
*Wrong donee structure = disputes*
*Sibling arguments = delays*
*Court steps in = more waiting*
There are real SG cases like this.
So LPA is not just
“do already = safe”.
It must be structured properly.
Right now government waiving fees
until 31 March 2026.

Most of us have been taught that the US market is the gold standard for long-term growth. But the numbers tell a different story for overseas-based investors.
Did you know that over the last 25 years, the USD has already declined by nearly 30% against the SGD?
In 2001: 1 USD was worth ~S$1.79
Today: 1 USD is worth ~S$1.27
The Result: A "silent tax" has been eating away at the converted value of US-based savings for decades.
The Path to 1:1 Parity - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4JNxFx7klk
According to the DBS "Singapore 2040" report, this trend is set to continue. Analysts forecast the SGD could reach parity (1:1) with the USD by 2040. If this happens, every US dollar you earn in the future will be worth less and less here at home.
So what now?
US Assets are still growth engines (Short to Medium Term): The US remains the best place for innovation and liquidity. Use it to build capital over the next 5–10 years, but don't assume it's the safest "store of value" for your 2040 retirement.
Bottom Line: A 30% decline since 2001 was the first warning. Parity in 2040 is the second. Don't let your global gains be wiped out by a local currency shift.
Do your own due diligence regardless! Any questions on assets allocation, reach out!
