M+ Global Market Update – 12May26
Wall Street Rallied Despite Iran Diplomatic Setback
US: Although Wall Street continues to close higher, we believe market movement going forward may be influenced by: (i) the fresh diplomatic setback between the US and Iran; (ii) Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to China; and (iii) the release of CPI and PPI data this week. As both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq are displaying bearish divergence signals, a potential retracement could be on the horizon. While Micron’s share price surged following news that high-volume shipments of HBM4 memory have commenced, this development is also expected to benefit Nvidia, as HBM4 is a critical component for Nvidia’s forthcoming Rubin architecture. Furthermore, this serves as a structural tailwind for Applied Materials, Vertiv Holdings, and Teradyne.
MY: Tracking Wall Street’s positive overnight performance, we anticipate a spillover effect onto the FBM KLCI. Meanwhile, following the Ministry of Economy’s announcement to bolster the nation’s IC design capabilities through a strategic partnership with ARM Holdings, we believe investors should remain focused on Oppstar and SkyeChip; the market may increasingly regard them as the “Nvidia of Malaysia”. Lastly, with an anticipated increase in the volume of high-end local chips, other ATE-related (Automated Test Equipment) companies poised to benefit from this partnership tailwind include Frontken, UWC, and ViTrox.

M+ Global Market Update – 13May26
Trump’s China Visit In-Focus
US: While Wall Street retreated following higher-than-anticipated CPI data, we believe the market will focus on President Trump’s visit to China. Key highlights include a CEO delegation accompanying the President, featuring Tim Cook (Apple), Elon Musk (Tesla), and leaders from Boeing, Micron, Mastercard, and other blue-chip financial institutions. Also, as a major importer of Iranian crude, China is expected to facilitate a breakthrough in the US–Iran stalemate, despite reports that Trump is seriously considering a resumption of combat operations. Meanwhile, we favour the announcement of Applied Materials’ collaboration with TSMC to accelerate AI chip scaling, focusing on advanced logic and packaging and view the recent pullback in both stocks as a 'buy-on-the-dip' opportunity.
MY: As Wall Street ended lower yesterday, we anticipate profit-taking activities on the local bourse today. Meanwhile, as the WHO warns countries to prepare for further hantavirus cases, we expect sentiment to remain supportive of glove manufacturers in the near term, traders may monitor for a pullback to accumulate. Besides, with cocoa prices hitting a 3.5 month high on El Niño fears, traders may monitor GCB, which staged a breakout from its sideways consolidation and surpassed the 200-day moving average yesterday.

M+ Global Market Update – 14May26
Nvidia’s Jensen Huang Joined China Visit Last Minute
US: Despite mixed trading, Wall Street continues to focus on President Trump’s ongoing state visit to China. In a last-minute addition, Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang joined Apple’s Tim Cook and Tesla’s Elon Musk on board Air Force One to Beijing to lobby for AI market access. Following Huang’s inclusion in the delegation, Chinese data centre operators such as VNET Group surged, while GDS Holdings is expected to see sustained buying interest going forward. Other companies anticipated to benefit from this visit include Boeing, Micron, Mastercard, and Goldman Sachs. Lastly, amidst the rebound in silver prices, traders could also build positions in Hecla Mining.
MY: As MSCI removes six stocks as part of its rebalancing activities, and following mixed performance in the US markets yesterday, we believe the FBM KLCI will adopt a ‘wait-and-see’ approach regarding Trump’s visit to China to gain greater clarity. Although the technology sector remains strong, buoyed by the influence of US tech giants visiting China and the recent ARM strategic partnership, we suggest traders wait for a pullback entry opportunity or consider taking partial profits, as most Bursa-listed technology stocks are currently overbought. Finally, we continue to favour EG and IAB, with the latter set to benefit from the utility boom in Sarawak.

Good Evening,
Following EG's latest contract win valued at RM949 million, we have worked out several scenarios of TP for investors to consider heading into FY27.
Source: https://theedgemalaysia.com/node/803551
📌Under a conservative earnings assumption of PAT at RM158.4 million (RM56.9m from new contract based on 6% margins + FY26f earnings of RM101.5m), we derive a TP of RM2.37, based on a 14x PE multiple.
📌Should earnings outperform and PAT reaches RM185.6 million, we see the stock trading towards a TP range of RM2.78–RM2.98, supported by a PE range of 14x–15x. Do note that 14-15x is their PE multiple range of 2Y-5Y.
📌Meanwhile, in our previous report, we have assigned EG a higher P/E of 16.8x, the stock could potentially reach RM3.33.
The progressive step-up in TPs reflects both the earnings visibility this contract brings and the possibility of a broader re-rating as execution gets underway. Investors may wish to calibrate their entry accordingly.

M+ Global Market Update – 15May26
Dow Reclaimed The 50k Milestone
US: While the Dow Jones has reclaimed the 50,000-point mark, market attention remains fixed on the breakthroughs following President Trump’s visit to China. Nvidia has received approval to resume sales of its H200 chips, a move set to directly benefit Chinese data centre operators such as VNET and GDS. This comes as President Xi personally assured US firms that China will continue to broaden market access. Moreover, we remain positive regarding the high-volume shipments of Micron’s HBM4 memory, a pivotal component for Nvidia’s forthcoming Rubin architecture. Besides, the projected surge in US Navy defence spending is expected to provide a significant tailwind for both ATI Inc. and BWX Technologies.
MY: Domestic technology stocks continue to gather strong momentum, with EG Industries emerging as the primary focus after securing a RM949m purchase order. This propelled its share price to an all-time high of RM1.59, before paring its gains to close at RM1.49. Following the integration of this contract into our previous non-rated coverage, we have derived a fair value range of RM2.37–RM3.33, providing a benchmark for investors looking towards FY27. Finally, we maintain an optimistic stance on the utilities and solar sectors, including MNHLDG, CBHB, PEKAT, and SLVEST, capitalising on Malaysia's data centre boom and the NETR.
Stocks to watch:
Technology: *ATECH*, INARI, *MCLEAN*, *SCICOM*, VSTECS
Construction: *CBHB*, *MNHLDG*
Solar: *PEKAT*
Utility: *RANHILL*
Consumer: TGUAN

M+ Global Market Update – 18May26
Focusing On The Agriculture and Oil Sectors
US: While there were few significant breakthroughs in the recent top-level US-China summit, coupled with stronger-than-expected inflation data, we expect that the Wall Street will start the week softer. However, China’s Commerce Ministry mentioned that both countries have agreed in principle to reduce tariffs on selected goods. Moreover, the two nations agreed to expand two-way trade in agricultural products, which should benefit US agricultural companies such as Archer-Daniels-Midland Co., Bunge Global, and Corteva. Besides, the market sentiment should bode well for major US oil exporters like as China agreed to purchase American oil.
MY: As the FBM KLCI approaches its EMA20, we expect a rebound to occur soon. Meanwhile, the REIT sector is showing a decent recovery where SUNREIT and PAVREIT possesses strong fundamentals and dividend yields stood above 5%. Meanwhile, given the rebound in Brent oil price, traders could position themselves in DIALOG and PCHEM; the former has announced a strong 3QFY26 financial results, and serves as a potential candidate for inclusion in the FBM KLCI benchmark, which is set to expand from to 50 constituents. Lastly, following a period of being overbought, we view the recent profit-taking activities in the Technology sector as a healthy pullback, remaining positive on VITROX, UWC, and INARI.
Stocks to watch:
Technology: CORAZA, *SCICOM*
Construction: *HEGROUP*, *MNHLDG*
Utility: *GASMSIA*, RANHILL
Consumer: *GENM*
Chemical: *TMK*
Financial: *MNRB*

Good Evening All,
After attending MGB Berhad’s 1QFY26 results briefing , here are our quick take for investors:
Investment Highlights
📌 RM4.8bn revenue visibility. MGB’s RM4.8bn provides highly visible earnings clarity stretching through FY28–FY29.
📌 Resilient Q1 profitability. 1QFY26 PATAMI rose 19% YoY to RM14.1m. Strong cost control drove this bottom-line growth despite a softer quarterly revenue performance following the completion of major property developments.
📌 Margin protection via IBS technology. In-house Industrialised Building System (IBS) precast concrete technology remains MGB's primary competitive advantage, lowering labor risks and shortening construction timelines.
📌 Stable affordable housing base (RM1.3bn). This remains the group's core revenue anchor, driven by steady progress on Rumah Selangorku Idaman projects and upcoming Rumah Selangorku 3.0 launches.
🏗️ Project Updates
📌 Saudi Arabia (KSA) expansion (RM405m). This pipeline consists of RM257m in construction and RM148m in higher-margin precast supply contracts. Management is also actively bidding on international tender, with RM300m replenishment target in FY26 and currently 12% already achieved.
📌 High-margin pocket land (RM1.1bn). MGB is shifting toward property development to capture developer-level margins. The pipeline features 1 ongoing project in Johor and 4 upcoming launches, positioning the company to benefit directly from JSSEZ economic tailwinds.
📌 KTIP Industrial Park (RM747m). Diversification into the Kertih Terengganu Industrial Park, as industrial builds typically offer faster construction cycles and quicker billing realizations than residential projects. Situated right next to ERCL.
📌 Robust construction backlog (RM1.3bn). Secure domestic order book is backed by 8 internal LBS parent-company projects, 3 external jobs, and 2 turnkey contracts.
📈 M+ Global View
We favour MGB Berhad as it successfully transitions from a domestic builder into a tech-driven regional contractor. We like the group based on the following core catalysts:
💡 Strong revenue visibility. The aggregated RM4.8bn revenue visibility provides a highly secure and visible growth runway through FY28–FY29.
💡 Reliable parent-company pipeline. As a subsidiary of LBS Bina Group, MGB secures consistent internal project flows, ensuring a highly dependable baseline of "recurring" construction revenue.
💡 Strong operational moat through IBS. Its proprietary IBS precast technology insulates the company from rising labor costs while improving execution speed.
💡 JSSEZ exposure. The shift into pocket land developments in Johor perfectly positions MGB to ride on upcoming growth catalysts within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.
💡 Industrial diversification. The KTIP Industrial Park project effectively diversifies the group’s portfolio into industrial infrastructure, which features faster billing realizations.
💡 International front expansion. The ongoing expansion in Saudi Arabia serves as a powerful proof of concept, positioning MGB to secure larger infrastructure pieces under the Saudi Vision 2030 master plans.
👉🏻 With a current PE & PB ratios of only 5.0x and 0.4x, we view MGB is trading at an undemanding valuation below its historical mean (1Y PE= 5.3x, PB=0.5x; 5Y PE=11.8x, PB=0.7x), MGB acts as a compelling buy opportunity to capture stable affordable housing demand, industrial diversification, and regional expansion upside.
