M+ Global Market Update – 22Jun26
US-Iran Peace Talks Remain In Focus
US: Despite the ongoing U.S.–Iran ceasefire talks in Switzerland, Iran’s resumption of the Strait of Hormuz's closure following Israel's attacks on Lebanon highlights the fragility of the ongoing peace deal. Hence, we expect Wall Street to kickstart the week on a cautious note. Meanwhile, following the Fed’s hawkish stance with a projection of one rate hike by year-end to combat inflation, this is expected to benefit banks such as Morgan Stanley (MS) and Goldman Sachs (GS) due to wider net interest margins. Lastly, we like S&P 500 potential inclusion candidate Burlington Stores (BURL) with its chart pending a breakout, fundamentally supported by the resilient consumer rotation into off-price retail segments.
MY: We believe the FBMKLCI will kickstart the week on a cautious following the closure of the Straits of Hormuz. Meanwhile, with the rebound in CPO price, we continue to favour the plantation stocks like SOP, UTDPLT and JPG. Riding on the photonics wave in the data centre boom, traders could also position into NE which is poised for a breakout, with the Group announcing stellar 2QFY26 results. Lastly, we also like the breakout shown in LWSABAH, underpinned by its increased margin due to higher ASP and lower raw material cost (Resin), and also higher production capacity following the commencement of Sandakan Sibuga Plant 1 in June 2025.
Stocks to watch:
Technology: *GREATEC*, JHM, *KGB*, UWC
Utility: *KJTS*, *RANHILL*
Construction: *GAMUDA*, MITRA
Consumer: *UCHITEC*

M+ Global Market Update – 23Jun26
Wall Street Mixed As Tech Stocks Slid
US: Following a mixed session on Wall Street as it digested a cool-down in Brent crude toward the USD80 mark coupled with a pullback in the Nasdaq, we expect indices to trade cautiously in the near term ahead of critical core PCE inflation data later this week. Following its blowout 3Q FY26 results driven by a surge in AI orders, we continue to like Cisco Systems (CSCO), which has pulled back toward its EMA20 and is pending a breakout. Also, we favour NetApp (NTAP) following its four-year enterprise agreement with Google, whereby Google will embed NTAP's data storage platforms into Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped environments, positioning NTAP as a preferred storage layer company for massive AI workloads.
MY: Following the mixed session on Wall Street, we expect the FBM KLCI to trade cautiously today, with the fall in crude oil prices expected to benefit airline companies such as AAX. Meanwhile, we favour INARI, which is pending a breakout, supported by multiple tailwinds such as the increasingly complex RF chips required for AI smartphones, a surge in high-speed optical transceiver packaging driven by massive data centre buildouts, and a weaker Ringgit environment. Lastly, with the rebound in CPO prices and the upcoming El Niño weather conditions, we continue to favour plantation stocks such as SDG, SOP, and UTDPLT.
Stocks to watch:
Technology: *EG*, *GENETEC*, *INARI*, JFTECH, KESM, NE, TTVHB

Plantation: *WTK*

M+ Global Market Update – 24Jun26
Tech Stocks Slumped, With Micron’s Results In Focus
US: Following the sell-off in US tech counters, we expect Wall Street to trade cautiously in the near term while observing Micron’s results later today and Core PCE inflation data tomorrow. Stock-wise, we favour both Flex Ltd (FLEX) and MACOM Technology Solutions (MTSI); the former officially joined the S&P 500 two days ago, while the latter is riding the data centre boom through its 1.6Tb and 3.2Tb optical solutions. Lastly, we also like the pullback shown by Bloom Energy (BE), supported by its USD20bn backlog following surging energy demand from AI data centres, which require rapid on-site power solutions.
MY: We expect the negative trading tone on the FBM KLCI to persist today, with tech stocks experiencing a dip following two consecutive days of sell-downs on the Nasdaq. Meanwhile, with the upcoming El Niño weather conditions, buying interest is expected to persist in cocoa and plantation counters, benefitting GCB, KLK, and UTDPLT, while the fall in crude oil prices is expected to benefit airline companies such as AAX. Lastly, we favour both SUNMED and EMPIRE; the former is staging a recovery after being oversold since the end of March, while the latter benefits from its ongoing network expansion plan.
Stocks to watch:
Consumer: EMPIRE, *GCB*, *OHM*
Building Material: *SKBSHUT*, *YBS*

Technology: *GOHUB*, ICENTS
Solar: *SAMAIDEN*
Financial: OSK

M+ Global Market Update – 25Jun26
Micron Outperformed with Economic Data In Focus
US: While the Dow showed a modest recovery amid advancements in the US–Iran peace talks and the fall in Brent crude toward the USD73 per barrel mark, we believe Wall Street will continue to trade cautiously ahead of the release of US Q1 GDP, Core PCE, and initial jobless claims data today. Meanwhile, following Micron’s (MU) blowout earnings, it is clear that the AI memory supercycle remains intact; its share price hovering around the EMA20 represents a compelling buying opportunity. Other stocks poised to benefit from Micron’s outperformance include Nvidia (NVDA), Western Digital (WDC), Applied Materials (AMAT), and Lam Research (LRCX).
MY: Tracking the positive Micron results, we expect the FBM KLCI to trade on a positive tone today. Meanwhile, given the continuous sell-down in crude oil prices, which should lower the cost of plastic resins, market sentiment will bode well for SPRITZER and LWSABAH. Lastly, we favour both JHM and SCICOM; the former recorded a positive turnaround in 1Q FY26 against net losses in FY25, coupled with its newly secured RM300m automotive parts contract with Proton, while the latter benefits from its strategic partnership with TM, which will integrate SCICOM’s AI platforms and business process outsourcing (BPO) into TM’s digital infrastructure.
Stocks to watch:
Technology: *GOHUB*, ICENTS, OPPSTAR, *PENTA*, *SFPTECH*, UWC
Construction: *CBHB*, *MNHLDG*
Transportation & Logistics: *MTTSL*, WPRTS
Automotive: *BETA*

M+ Global Market Update – 26Jun26
Apple Slide Offsets Stellar Micron Jump
US: Despite the strong earnings from Micron, Wall Street continued its negative momentum, dragged down by Apple following its announcement of price increases across MacBooks, iPads, and home devices. Nevertheless, given Micron’s (MU) earnings outperformance, coupled with Qualcomm’s USD15bn data centre revenue projection by FY29, a 50-fold leap from the USD0.3bn expected in FY26, which validates that the AI supercycle remains intact. Lastly, we continue to like S&P 500 potential inclusion candidate MACOM Technology Solutions, which is also riding the data centre boom through its 1.6Tb and 3.2Tb optical solutions.
MY: Tracking the mixed overnight performance on Wall Street, we expect the FBM KLCI to trade cautiously today. Meanwhile, following its acquisition of Singapore’s Allied Technologies in January, YBS has continued to map out a pattern of higher-lows and higher-highs, experiencing a technical breakout yesterday. The acquisition of Allied Technologies is expected to quadruple YBS’s revenue over the next two to three years, expand its international geographic footprint into Vietnam and Thailand, and triple its workforce from 1,000 to 3,000. Lastly, on the Technology front, we like SAM, which acts as a pure-play proxy for Applied Materials.

Technology: 3REN, *EG*, INARI, *MCLEAN*, OPPSTAR, SNS, *TTVHB*, *UWC*, VITROX
Utility: *UUE*
Automotive: BAUTO, *BETA*
