M+ Global Market Update – 19Aug26
Tech Drag Weighs on Wall Street
US: Wall Street is likely to remain cautious as investors take profits in technology stocks while balancing resilient enterprise hardware demand, elevated Treasury yields, and geopolitical uncertainty. We favour TD SYNNEX (SNX) for its exposure to enterprise IT refresh cycles, AI infrastructure, and cloud distribution, where an improving product mix and operating leverage could support earnings. Vicor (VICR) is also well positioned to benefit from rising AI data-centre power requirements through its 48V and vertical power-delivery solutions.
MY: We expect weaker global technology sentiment to weigh on the FBM KLCI, while higher Brent prices may support selected energy counters and stock-specific momentum remains focused on defensive names with visible catalysts. We favour HENGYUAN following its sharp 1QFY26 recovery, supported by stronger refining margins, prices, and sales volumes. MFLOUR remains attractive on its RM100m expansion across Vietnam and Malaysia, easing raw-material costs, and a minimum 30% dividend payout policy. SPRITZER remains supported by record FY25 profitability and improving margins, although elevated Brent crude prices could put upward pressure on PET resin costs and partially offset the benefits from tourism-driven volume growth.
Stocks to watch:
Technology: *KGB*, *SMRT*, SNS, VITROX
Consumer: *KOPI*, MFLOUR
Financial: CIMB
Property: *HKB*
Telco: *TM*
Chemical: PCHEM

Good Morning All,
We issued a 2Q26 results note on our coverage stock LGMS Berhad: Your Trusted Guide to Global Trading | Malacca Securities (mplusonline.com)
📌 Earnings within expectations. LGMS registered a 2QFY26 core PAT of RM1.7m (- 13.7% YoY, -20.5% QoQ). On a cumulative basis, 1HFY26 core PAT of RM3.9m accounts for 32.3% of our FY26f earnings forecast of RM12.2m and 31.2% of consensus estimates of RM12.5m. We view this as broadly in-line, given LGMS's performance is historically weighted towards the 2H of the year due to year-end project finalizations and billings.
📌 YoY. Revenue was marginally higher by 0.4% YoY to RM10.1m (vs RM10.0m in 2QFY25), driven by a strong 17.9% growth in the cyber risk prevention segment, but was also offset by declines in cyber risk management and compliance (-21.3% YoY) and cyber threat and incident response (-32.6% YoY). Core PAT declined 13.7% YoY to RM1.7m (vs RM2.0m in 2QFY25), as the Group incurred higher employee benefit expenses (+9.1% YoY) and IT expenses (+36.7% YoY) to capture future growth in AI security and cloud protection.
📌 QoQ. Revenue declined 7.3% QoQ to RM10.1m, while core PAT fell 20.5% QoQ to RM1.7m. The sequential decline was mainly attributable to the reduction in the cyber threat and incident response segment (-56.7% QoQ) to RM0.6m due to a lower level of projects undertaken for clients in the consumer, retail and financial sectors. • Cyber risk prevention remains the growth pillar. The group's primary revenue driver, cyber risk prevention, maintained its strong momentum with 17.9% YoY growth to RM6.9m (vs RM5.8m in 2QFY25), supported by stronger contributions from clients in the technology, manufacturing, and logistics sectors.
📌 Outlook. The structural growth drivers for cybersecurity remain intact, underpinned by the government's enforcement of the Cyber Security Act 2024 to push NCII entities to upgrade compliance, penetration testing, and risk advisory spending, coupled with the rising adoption of AI which will demand more AI security testing, model risk assessment and AI governance advisory services. LGMS's inclusion in the Gartner® Market Guide for Digital Forensics and Incident Response Retainer Services for two consecutive years (2025 and 2026) further reinforces its market positioning. We believe 2HFY26 will see a material pick-up driven by (i) year-end project finalizations and billings, (ii) the ramp-up of Antarex's earnings contribution, and (iii) the commercialization of StarSentry and expansion of AI security testing capabilities.
📌 Forecast. Despite the softer 1HFY26 earnings, we maintain our core PAT forecasts of RM12.2m–13.8m for FY26f–27f, while also introduced our FY28 forecasts. We believe the Group will see a meaningful pick-up in 2HFY26 driven by its usual yearend project finalizations and billings, the ramp-up of Antarex's earnings contribution, and ongoing AI and digitalization-driven demand for cybersecurity services.
📌 Maintained BUY recommendation with a TP of RM0.93. We maintain BUY recommendation on LGMS with an unchanged target price of RM0.93. The target price is derived based on a P/E ratio of 35.0x pegged to FY26f EPS of 2.67 sen.

M+ Global Market Update – 20Aug26
Treasury Liquidity Relief Snapped Wall Street Losses
US: As the US Treasury Department announced that it will double its planned purchases of longer-term Treasuries from USD2bn to at least USD4bn per operation to bolster market liquidity, causing Treasury yields to fall, we believe this will continue to provide immediate valuation relief for Wall Street. Meanwhile, we favour Estée Lauder (EL), supported by its 4QFY26 profit beat and a fourth consecutive quarter of accelerating revenue growth, led by expanding demand in mainland China. The cosmetics giant experienced a strong gap-up above the MA200. Besides, investors could also look at Apple (AAPL) following the expected launch of its foldable iPhone (iPhone Ultra) in September, giving the company a new product category to tap while potentially lifting the ASP of its broader iPhone lineup.
MY: Tracking the overnight rebound on Wall Street, we expect the FBMKLCI to follow suit today. Meanwhile, we continue to favour IOIPG, where owning 10 IOIPG shares will entitle investors to buy one IOI REIT unit via its upcoming restricted offer, while sentiment might also bode well for IOICORP following elevated CPO prices. Riding on Intel’s advanced packaging expansion, investors could position in 3REN, which has also recently applied for the Malaysian government’s Arm Technology Access Initiative. Lastly, EMPIRE remains on our radar, supported by its outlet expansion plan to open 15 more outlets by the end of FY27, bringing its total to 158 outlets.
Stocks to watch:
Building Material: *ENGTEX*, *MCEMENT*, *SKBSHUT*
Technology: AGMO, *INFOM*, *SMRT*
Healthcare: KPJ, *LACMED*
Telco: *TM*
Chemical: *TMK*

Good Afternoon All,
Following Pentech Holdings Berhad’s 2QFY26 results briefing with the management, here is our quick take for investors:
📈 Investment Highlights
📌 Strong sequential 2QFY26 results bolstered by core ICT solutions. 2QFY26 revenue stood at RM75.1m (+13.0% QoQ), while adjusted PAT reached RM4.6m (translating to an adjusted PAT margin of 6.1%) after excluding RM1.5m in one-off IPO listing expenses. For 1HFY26, revenue totaled RM141.5m with normalized PAT coming in at RM7.3m (adjusted PAT margin of 5.2%) after normalizing RM2.6m in cumulative listing expenses. Growth was driven by stronger contributions across core ICT segments and lower spending on marketing events during the quarter.
📌 Expanding GP margin backed by core operational drivers. Gross profit for 2QFY26 expanded 18.0% QoQ to RM11.2m, lifting GP margin to 15.0% (vs. 14.3% in 1QFY26). Growth was led by the Integration of Enterprise ICT Infrastructure segment and the Provision of Cloud & Managed Services.
📌 Ongoing order book stands at ~RM127m. As of 31 July 2026, Pentech’s unbilled order book stood at ~RM127.0m, with ~RM80.0m scheduled to be recognized within FY26 alone. Meanwhile, management also expects the financial performance in 2HFY26 to outperform 1HFY26, reinforcing strong full-year earnings momentum for FY26.
📌 Benefitting from Malaysia’s multi-billion-dollar cloud and AI infrastructure surge. Pentech is strategically positioned to benefit from various national digital initiatives, while the local enterprise ICT market is directly benefiting from massive capital commitments by global tech giants, including AWS, Microsoft, Google and Oracle, which are driving enterprise demand for systems integration, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity solutions.
📌 High-value operational scaling via SOC and OCC infrastructure upgrades. To capture higher-margin, recurring cybersecurity and managed service contracts, Pentech is establishing a new Security Operations Centre (SOC) for real-time monitoring and threat response, while also upgrading its Operations Control Centre (OCC) infrastructure to widen system coverage and improve network monitoring efficiency.
📌 RM30.2m expansion war chest with interim dividend. With RM30.2m in unutilized IPO proceeds (87.7% remaining), Pentech is fully capitalized to fund its network infrastructure and service expansion. Management also declared a single-tier interim dividend of 0.50 sen per share, payable on 30 September 2026.
💡 M+ Global View
📌 We like Pentech’s positioning as an established enterprise ICT integration and cloud/managed services provider benefiting directly from Malaysia's ongoing data centre and AI infrastructure boom. While 2QFY26 reported earnings were temporarily weighed down by non-recurring listing expenses, Pentech’s underlying operational profitability remains resilient, as evidenced by its 8.0% adjusted PBT margin and 6.1% adjusted PAT margin. Management also expects 2HFY26 to have a stronger financial performance than 1HFY26, while also declared a 0.50 sen interim dividend.
📌 In short, key catalysts for Pentech include: (i) accelerating revenue conversion from enterprise digital transformation and hyperscaler data centre rollouts in Malaysia, (ii) margin expansion following the operationalization of the new SOC and upgraded OCC, (iii) ~RM127m order book visibility across enterprise ICT infrastructure and managed services, and (iv) strategic deployment of its RM30.2m unutilized IPO proceeds into high-growth ICT service offerings moving forward.

M+ Global Market Update – 21Aug26
Yield Spike and Soft Walmart Sales Drag Wall Street
US: Wall Street halted its rebound as the 10-year Treasury yield surged to 4.7%. With Trump announcing new economic sanctions against Iran, coupled with Walmart reporting its weakest sales growth since 2020, we expect sentiment to turn bearish for Wall Street in the near term. While broader semiconductor stocks retreated, Marvell Technology bucked the trend, supported by its partnership with Google to design and produce custom, application-specific AI accelerators. This provides Alphabet the option to acquire up to USD12.2bn stake to secure long-term enterprise silicon capacity. Lastly, traders could continue to monitor Deere & Company following its top- and bottom-line beat, with management expecting agricultural equipment orders to enter an accelerating demand cycle heading into FY27.
MY: Tracking the overnight sell-off on Wall Street, we expect the FBM KLCI to pull back today. However, selected technology stocks could remain in focus; riding on the cloud and AI infrastructure surge in the country, investors could position themselves in end-to-end enterprise ICT infrastructure integration provider PENTECH, which anticipates higher margins moving forward as the company expands towards subscription-based cloud and AI-driven applications. Lastly, with ongoing DC buildouts in the country and the upcoming Budget 2027 in October, we remain optimistic about the Construction and Utilities sectors, with stocks such as GAMUDA, SUNCON, and YTL-related counters remaining on our radar.
Stocks to watch:
Building Material: ENGTEX, *MCEMENT*, *YBS*
Healthcare: *SCOMNET*
Automotive: *SIME*
Technology *AGMO*

Good Morning All,
We issued a Market Chat: KLCI’s Biggest Overhaul Since 2009
Your Trusted Guide to Global Trading | Malacca Securities (mplusonline.com)
📢 FBM KLCI to Expand from 30 to 50 Stocks
Bursa Malaysia and FTSE Russell have announced the biggest structural overhaul of the KLCI since 2009. The index will add 20 new constituents in two phases:
🔹 21 Dec 2026 – New stocks enter at 50% of their final weight
🔹 21 Jun 2027 – Full weighting takes effect
The expansion aims to make the KLCI more representative of Malaysia’s economy and reduce its heavy concentration in banks and large-cap stocks. It could also introduce greater representation from technology, energy, REITs and other sectors currently absent from the index.
📌 Potential market impact:
• Index funds and ETFs will need to buy the new constituents
• Existing large-cap banks and utilities may face some mechanical selling pressure
• Stocks expected to be included could see stronger interest ahead of the announcement
• However, part of the inclusion premium may already be priced in
• Volatility is likely around the early-December announcement, 21 December 2026 and 21 June 2027
• Inclusion is not guaranteed, as final selection depends on market cap, free float and liquidity
The final list of 20 additions is expected to be announced in early December 2026, based on data as at around 23 November 2026.
📄 Please refer to our attached report, “KLCI’s Biggest Overhaul Since 2009”, for the detailed analysis and potential beneficiaries.

Good Afternoon All,
Following EI Power Berhad’s (EIP) 2QFY26 results briefing, here is our quick take for investors:
📈 Investment Highlights
📌 Solid sequential 2QFY26 growth. 2QFY26 revenue rose 17.8% QoQ to RM24.4m, while adjusted PAT reached RM6.3m (translating to a 25.8% adjusted PAT margin) after normalizing RM3.1m in one-off IPO listing expenses. For 1HFY26, revenue totaled RM45.2m with an adjusted PAT of RM12.3m (27.3% margin).
📌 RM219.8m unbilled order book provides revenue visibility. As of 30 June 2026, EIP’s unbilled order book stood at RM219.8m, representing 2.8x cover ratio over FY25 revenue. The RM219.8 unbilled orderbook is expected to progressively recognised till 2027. Meanwhile, tenderbook stands at RM574.5m for Malaysia and RM90.7m in Thailand.
📌 Direct beneficiary of Malaysia's data center and AI infrastructure surge. EIP is strategically positioned to capture ongoing hyperscale data center rollouts across Johor and the Klang Valley, fueling sustained demand for complex mission-critical power engineering systems.
📌 Expansion into Thailand. Again, EIP is expanding into Thailand's booming digital sector with RM90.7m in active tenders, while all the necessary licenses for Thailand's expansion already secured.
📌 RM56.9m IPO war chest. With RM56.9m in unutilized IPO proceeds (91.5% remaining) and a strong net cash position of RM70.9m, EIP is fully capitalized to execute its regional expansion, establish a new HQ/warehouse, and fund project execution.
💡 M+ Global View
📌 While headline 2QFY26 PAT was temporarily weighed down by non-recurring listing costs, underlying core profitability remains exceptionally strong with an adjusted PAT margin of 25.8%. Backed by an active project pipeline and healthy balance sheet, EIP is well-positioned for sustained earnings momentum.
📌 Key catalysts include: (i) accelerated revenue conversion from mission-critical data center power delivery, (ii) regional expansion into Thailand, (iii) strong earnings visibility via its RM219.8m order book through 2027, and (iv) strategic deployment of its RM56.9m unutilized IPO proceeds into high-margin operations moving forward.

M+ Global Market Update – 24Aug26
US-Canada Trade Collapse To Drag On Sentiment
US: With Canada vowing “dollar-for-dollar” retaliatory tariffs on the US after the collapse of US–Canada trade talks, coupled with ongoing Middle East tensions, we expect that the rebound on Wall Street will not be sustainable in the near term. Stock-wise, we like Interactive Brokers (IBKR), underpinned by (i) its introduction of new products and market expansion, (ii) its integration of next-generation AI and autonomous agentic trading infrastructure, and (iii) its recent 2QFY26 earnings beat. Besides, buying interest emerged in cryptocurrency-related stocks like Robinhood (HOOD) and Coinbase (COIN) following the sharp rally in Bitcoin. Lastly, investors will also be focusing on Nvidia’s (NVDA) Q2 earnings this Wednesday, alongside software leaders Intuit (INTU), Salesforce (CRM), and CrowdStrike (CRWD).
MY: With the local bourse entering a shortened trading week alongside the collapse of US–Canada trade talks, we expect the FBM KLCI to trade on a mixed note. Stock-wise, SCGBHD is pending a further breakout while FOODIE is also seeing an improvement in its share price performance; the former secured a RM403.6m supplementary contract extension from TNB, bringing its total order book to RM1.3bn, while the latter saw its 9MFY26 results already surpass its FY25 full-year results. Lastly, we continue to favour EIPOWER, supported by (i) accelerated revenue conversion from mission-critical DC power delivery, (ii) regional expansion into Thailand, and (iii) a RM219.8m order book providing earnings visibility through 2027.
Stocks to watch:
