M+ Global Market Update – 16Oct26
Market Rebounds as Bond Rally Offsets Hot PPI
US: Despite September PPI surging 1.3% MoM and retail sales beating expectations, the decline in the US 10-year Treasury yield amid a bond market rally could help ease concerns over further rate hikes. Stock-wise, we continue to favour ServiceNow (NOW), supported by its AI business surpassing USD1bn in annual contract value ahead of its 28 October earnings release. Meanwhile, Airbnb (ABNB) offers exposure to year-end travel demand, supported by encouraging booking trends and its AI-driven search rollout. Lastly, TSMC's record 3Q26 profit (+69% YoY) and expectations of higher capital expenditure beyond 2026 could benefit semiconductor equipment makers such as ASML and Applied Materials (AMAT).
MY: Tracking the overnight rebound on Wall Street, we expect the local bourse to trade positively. Stock-wise, we favour AWC, supported by recurring data centre contract wins, including its recent RM39.7m subcontract from GAMUDA. The Group has an unbilled order book of approximately RM900m, representing around 2.0x FY26 revenue, underpinning our BUY recommendation with a target price of RM0.80. Similarly, we favour GREATEC, a leading Malaysian provider of automated test equipment (ATE) and factory automation solutions, backed by its RM1.83bn order book. Its expansion into data centre-related automation, alongside demand from life sciences, e-mobility and semiconductor customers, could support earnings visibility.

M+ Global Market Update – 19Oct26
Fed Hold Bets Build as Earnings Loom
US: Warsh's latest comments reinforced expectations of a Fed rate hold at its 27–28 October meeting, with market-implied odds of a hike falling to around 15% after he refrained from signalling the next policy move. Meanwhile, US industrial production rose 0.7% MoM in September, while manufacturing output increased 0.3%, suggesting resilient but uneven industrial activity. Stock-wise, Cleveland-Cliffs (CLF) and Steel Dynamics (STLD) are scheduled to report 3Q26 results before the open and after the close, respectively. STLD has guided for EPS of USD5.34–5.38, up from USD3.69 in 2Q26, supported by wider steel margins and record shipments, with investors watching for sustained margin expansion.
MY: Locally, investors may remain selective, with interest potentially extending towards engineering services, semiconductor recovery and water-efficiency themes. PIONEER offers revenue visibility from its reported RM50.43m unbilled order book as it pursues larger engineering projects and expansion in Sarawak. CPETECH could attract attention following a recovery in 4QFY26 earnings, supported by stronger semiconductor demand and higher production volumes, although full-year profit remained lower YoY. Meanwhile, ISF is worth watching for potential partnerships with state water authorities to reduce non-revenue water, which could open up recurring income opportunities.

Tech Rebound Meets Earnings Test
US: Wall Street may see a further tech-led recovery as investors buy the dip in semiconductor and AI-linked shares, although elevated oil prices and Treasury yields above 5.1% could limit broader risk appetite. Tuesday's earnings take centre stage, with General Motors (GM) and GE Aerospace (GE) reporting before the open, followed by Netflix (NFLX) and SpaceX (SPCX) after the close. Investors will scrutinise corporate guidance for signs of resilient demand, while Netflix's results and SpaceX's earnings report could offer fresh insights into digital monetisation and AI-related investment ambitions.
MY: The local bourse may trade mixed amid persistent foreign selling and global uncertainty that could cap the upside on the broader market. However, improved technology sentiment and robust September export growth are likely to offer some support; Malaysia's exports surged 54.5% YoY to RM215.1bn in September, supported by stronger electrical and electronics shipments. Stock-specific catalysts include JTGROUP, following its RM30.1m data-centre infrastructure contract in Kulai, Johor. Meanwhile, GDB may also warrant attention after securing a RM119m subcontract for Sarawak's Phase 3 National Flood Forecasting and Warning Programme, with completion scheduled for November 2029.

Good Morning All,
We issued a company update report on our coverage stock CAB Cakaran Berhad: Your Trusted Guide to Global Trading | Malacca Securities (https://r.mplusglobal.com.my/public/website/file/2026/10/20/20261020075914916.pdf)
Newsbreak
📌CAB Cakaran Corporation Berhad (CAB) announced that it has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Oiltek Global Pte Ltd (Oiltek), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SGX-ST Mainboard-listed Oiltek International Limited, to explore a joint venture (JV) in Malaysia to develop premium animal feed ingredients from palm oil-derived products. Both parties will evaluate the feasibility of the collaboration, including product development, processing technologies and the JV framework. The MOU remains subject to definitive agreements and the necessary approvals, with no investment cost, equity structure or timeline disclosed.
📌The collaboration pairs CAB's 50 years of poultry farming experience with Oiltek's 45-year track record in palm oil processing technology, backed by eight proprietary process technology patents. The proposed collaboration aims to convert palm-derived products into feed ingredients with improved nutritional quality, digestibility and commercial value. CAB brings a ready market via CAB Feed Sdn Bhd (formerly Cargill Feed), acquired on 28 November 2025, which operates four feed mills in Westport, Butterworth, Melaka and Sabah.
M+ Global View
📌 We view the MOU as a logical next step in CAB’s move upstream following the CAB Feed acquisition, extending the Group from feed milling into feed ingredients. If commercially viable, locally sourced palm-derived feed ingredients could provide CAB with alternative feed inputs, potentially reducing its exposure to imported raw materials and associated foreign exchange volatility, while the collaboration could also unlock potential commercial opportunities beyond CAB’s internal feed requirements, subject to product development and market acceptance.
📌 That said, any earnings contribution relies on the MOU progressing into a definitive agreement, as the product scope, capex and JV structure are yet to be defined at this early, non-binding stage. Given the Salim JV Phase 1 delay, we would await a greater clarity on the JV framework with definite agreement before ascribing any value to the collaboration.
Valuation & Recommendation
📌 Forecast. Pending further clarification from management on the JV investment cost, equity structure and funding as the MOU progresses, we maintain our FY26f-28f core PAT forecasts of RM95.4m/RM101.6m/RM104.3m.
📌 Valuations. We maintain our Buy recommendation for CAB with an unchanged TP of RM0.72, implying a potential upside of 22.0% from the current share price of RM0.59. The target price is derived based on a P/E ratio of 5.0x pegged to FY27f EPS of 14.47 sen.

M+ Global Market Update – 21Oct26
Wall Street Rebounds as Mag 7 Earnings Take Focus
US: Wall Street may extend its recovery, supported by easing oil prices and lower Treasury yields, although investors remain focused on clearer returns from AI investments. Wednesday's earnings from Magnificent Seven members Meta Platforms and Tesla, alongside IBM and Lam Research, will be key sentiment drivers. Meta's AI monetisation and capital expenditure plans will test the sustainability of infrastructure spending, while Tesla's automotive margins and robotaxi progress will shape its growth outlook. Meanwhile, IBM and LRCX will provide further insights into enterprise IT spending and semiconductor equipment demand.
MY: The FBM KLCI may remain mixed amid elevated oil prices, global AI-sector volatility and persistent foreign selling. Stock-wise, we favour 99SMART, which may benefit from Budget 2027's increased STR-SARA allocation of RM16bn from RM15bn in 2026. Strong utilisation is evident, with nearly RM11bn disbursed as of September and monthly SARA utilisation reaching 99.7%. Meanwhile, a proposed CPO export-tax waiver could boost export competitiveness for plantation players such as TAANN and SWKPLNT, although implementation remains uncertain. Separately, Sarawak's 15GW power-generation target by 2035, with at least 60% from renewables, could benefit infrastructure players such as MNHLDG through potential grid and substation projects.

M+ Global Market Update – 22Oct26
AI Rebound Lifts Sentiment Ahead of Earnings
US: Wall Street may extend its tech-led recovery as strong AI-related earnings support sentiment, although elevated oil prices and Treasury yields could temper gains. Meta Platforms (META) reported 26% revenue growth but raised the lower end of its FY26 capex guidance to USD135bn, keeping AI investment returns in focus. Meanwhile, Tesla's weaker profits highlight uneven corporate earnings, while Thursday's results from Honeywell (HON), Lockheed Martin (LMT), Procter & Gamble (PG) and Western Digital (WDC) could influence market direction.
MY: The FBM KLCI may trade firmer, tracking Wall Street's tech-led rally, although persistent foreign selling and geopolitical uncertainty could temper gains. Stock-wise, we favour FRONTKN for its exposure to sustained semiconductor demand, with 2QFY26 revenue rising 19.5% YoY to RM186.9m and net profit increasing 42.5% to RM47.7m. Meanwhile, WPRTS reported a 26.4% YoY increase in 3QFY26 net profit to RM342.6m on revenue of RM1.07bn, supported by higher tariffs and stronger value-added services revenue. Management expects annual container throughput to at least match last year's level, providing earnings visibility despite fluid operating conditions.

M+ Global Market Update – 23Oct26
AI Spending Fears and Oil Risks Weigh on Markets
US: Wall Street may remain cautious as investors reassess whether AI monetisation can justify rising infrastructure spending, while renewed Middle East tensions keep energy supply risks in focus. Meta's elevated capex outlook and Tesla's profitability and robotaxi execution have sharpened scrutiny of investment returns. In the energy sector, Chevron (CVX) offers upstream exposure to firmer crude prices, while Valero (VLO) provides exposure to stronger refining margins after reporting record third-quarter earnings amid supply disruptions.
MY: The FBM KLCI may trade mixed amid global technology uncertainty, with domestic contract wins and earnings providing stock-specific opportunities. JTGROUP warrants attention after securing a 55% participation, equivalent to approximately RM312.5m, in a consortium's RM568.2m TNB substation contract in Paka, strengthening its order-book visibility. Meanwhile, FOODIE may attract interest after FY26 net profit surged 67.7% YoY to RM15.7m on 49.6% revenue growth to RM55.5m, with total dividends of 1.53 sen per share. Separately, elevated energy prices may keep DIALOG and GASMSIA on investors' radar, although earnings implications differ given DIALOG's terminal and project exposure and GASMSIA's regulated gas distribution operations.
