Malaysia’s Construction Work Done Value up by 20.2% in 2024

Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) reported that the value of total construction work done in Malaysia in 2024 grew 20.2% to MYR158.8 billion YoY.

This was primarily driven by the special trade activities and residential building sub-sectors which recorded increase of 44.9% and 38.9% YoY respectively.

The private sector remained a resilient driver of growth in 4Q24, contributing MYR27 billion or 64.2% of the total value of work done.

Bullish investors looking for leveraged exposure on the construction sector may consider Call Warrants such as EKOVEST-C66, MAHSING-C74 and UEMS-C1L, which costs only a fraction of the share price.
