M+ Global Market Update – 18Sep25
More Rate Cuts Expected Moving Forward
US: Wall Street ended mixed on Wednesday as the Fed delivered a 25bps rate cut, largely in line with market expectations, while signalling two further cuts this year to cushion the slowdown in the labour market. The Fed commented that inflation was "somewhat elevated" and the unemployment outlook was largely unchanged. Traders characterised the rate cut as a "risk management cut" rather than the beginning of an interest rate downcycle. Nonetheless, we expect the Russell 2000 index to continue gaining momentum in this environment, while the Technology sector may pull back further, translating to softer S&P 500 and Nasdaq movements.
MY: Following the Fed's rate cut decision, we expect the FBMKLCI to continue trading higher today, as improving global liquidity should bode well for Asian and emerging markets, including Malaysia. However, with the 19% tariff on 1st August, coupled with a weakening USD, we believe the export-oriented sectors will be negatively impacted in the upcoming results. On the flip side, domestically-driven sectors such as construction, utilities, REITs, banks, and consumer products & services should be in focus. Meanwhile, with the news of KLK launching its KLK TechPark, we remain bullish on KLK, as well as property developers with industrial or tech park exposure, including ECOWLD, SIMEPROP, and MAHSING.

Bursa Malaysia Midday Recap: Falling Within Expectations
The FBM KLCI pulled back today following yesterday’s strong rally in the second half. Today’s performance came about after the US Fed guided for a more measured approach to rate cuts which fell within market’s expectations (i.e. 2 more 25 bps cuts in 2025). Broad market investors also turned to lock in some profits with laggards outnumbering gainers today. Only 4 sectors stayed in the green today with property outperforming on the back of a small bounce in SPSETIA and KSL’s continued rally.
Investors bullish on yesterday’s rate cut may want to consider checking out JFTECH (Estimated Resistance: MYR0.485; Stop Loss: MYR0.395) or TMK (ER: MYR1.27; SL: MYR1.03), both highlighted in our technical analysis report today. Check out today’s video for a breakdown on the stocks’ technical set up.

M+ Global Market Update – 24Sep25
Profit Taking Activities May Emerge
US: With Jerome Powell’s take on Wall Street’s overstretched valuation, profit-taking activities were seen across Wall Street. As a result, we believe the pullback may extend in the near term. However, we expect news related to semiconductors—such as (i) Nvidia Corp's USD100bn investment in OpenAI, (ii) Nvidia acquiring a USD5 billion stake in Intel, and (iii) OpenAI teaming up with Oracle and Softbank to build 5 new Stargate data centers worth USD500bn—may cushion the downside risk. Meanwhile, with the U.S. administration aiming to boost its uranium reserve over the long term, we believe this could serve as a re-rating catalyst for nuclear-related stocks like UUUU, OKLO, UEC, and URA.
MY: Taking a cue from Wall Street's negative lead, we expect profit-taking activities on the KLCI's key index, with the Technology sector likely to see selling pressure. However, we continue to favour ITMAX, as its recent contract wins have solidified its recurring revenue, providing earnings visibility for at least the next 15-20 years. We also see trading opportunities within construction stocks like BNASTRA and INTA, given their (i) robust earnings results from key developers, (ii) sizeable order book coverage, and (iii) undemanding valuations. Lastly, with the recent developments in SLVEST, we believe buying interest may emerge in renewable energy-related stocks such as KENERGY, supported by government initiatives like NETR and the rollout of LSS5 packages.

Construction: *KIMLUN*, PESONA, PWRWELL

Oversubscribed by 13.55x for the IPO price of RM0.20 with a market capitalisation of RM186.9 million.
It is raising RM36 million from this listing exercise - business expansion to purchase more generators, repay bank borrowings and working capital.

Going forward, as we expand into O&G and diversify our portfolio, reliance on TNB will continue to decline. That said, TNB is expected to remain theie largest revenue contributor.
We see strong growth potential in the oil-and-gas sector, where reliable, high-capacity power is essential, especially in offshore and remote environments,”

Oversubscribed by 13.55x for the IPO price of RM0.20 with a market capitalisation of RM186.9 million.
It is raising RM36 million from this listing exercise - business expansion to purchase more generators, repay bank borrowings and working capital.
Managing director Lim Cheng Ten said that the funds raised from listing proceeds would enable the company to expand its fleet by at least 36 units and acquire medium and high-voltage equipment to support this expansion over the next three years.
Going forward, as we expand into O&G and diversify our portfolio, reliance on TNB will continue to decline. That said, TNB is expected to remain theie largest revenue contributor.
