Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all our Muslim friends!

We wish you and your family a peaceful and safe time with your loved ones during this season.

This artwork was designed by our youths from the Singapore Boys’ Home. Art sessions like these allow youths to reflect on the importance of family, which helps to motivate them to persevere in their rehabilitation journeys.
Hari Raya brings family and loved ones together. If you've considered giving back during this festive period, here's your chance to hear how the spirit of family togetherness is important for fostering.

Open up your heart and home to vulnerable children and youths! Join us for an online information sharing session on 29 May 2021 to learn more and hear from our foster families. This session will be conducted in English and Malay.

RSVP by:
• Texting (WhatsApp) 9645 8231;
• Mailing us at fostering@msf.gov.sg;
• Visiting https://www.msf.gov.sg/Fostering/Pages/Latest-News-and-Calendar-of-Event.aspx
Closing date for registration is 28 May 2021.
Seeking support early for issues we often face at home prevents problems from snowballing and helps us see things from a different perspective. If you are experiencing marital, divorce or parenting issues and wish to speak to someone, the Community Psychology Hub (CPH) offers free-of-charge live chat (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm) and email counselling services with anonymous sign-ups. Our counsellors can help you work towards solutions to forge stronger bonds with your family.

This service is a joint initiative by MSF and CPH. Visit www.cphonlinecounselling.sg to find out more.
Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

We can all do our part to keep our seniors safe, especially those who may not know how to seek help or are unaware that they are victims of abuse.

There are various forms of abuse and none of it should be tolerated. Early reporting and help-seeking is important to protect our elderly. If you suspect that an elderly person is being abused, call the National Anti-Violence Helpline at 1800-777-0000. Find out more at: www.msf.gov.sg/breakthesilence

We encourage couples not to let the COVID-19 pandemic deter your marriage plans. For those who are planning your marriage solemnizations, you can learn more about the latest safe management measures here: www.rom.gov.sg.
The Public Transport Council is conducting a survey from now till 31 July to better understand the commuting experience and barriers faced by persons with disabilities and their caregivers.

If you are a person with disability or caregiver, we invite you to take the survey here: https://go.gov.sg/pwdsurvey. Your views will help to make our public transport system more inclusive. Share this with your family and friends too.

We hope that the recent amendments to the Child Development Co-Savings Act will help to make the parenthood journey more manageable for working parents.

The Government-Paid Paternity Benefit and Government-Paid Adoption Benefit schemes seek to support working fathers and adoptive mothers, who may not qualify for paternity leave or adoption leave, due to their employment arrangements. For parents who are retrenched or whose contracts have expired before they are able to use up their leave entitlements, they can also receive a benefit top-up for the leave that was forfeited.

Visit www.profamilyleave.gov.sg to find out more about these new schemes.
To commemorate the Year of Celebrating SG Women, we have collaborated with i’mable Collective, Singapore Fashion Runway and Bizlink Centre to produce these colourful masks, masks straps and tote bags so everyone can look good while supporting a good cause.

The mask sets and bags were designed and sewn by youths from SFR, a social enterprise helping youths with special needs to express themselves through creativity and fashion. Show your support by getting your own set here: https://www.singaporefashionrunway.com/collections/sg-women-collection
