We are dedicating 2021 as the Year of Celebrating SG Women. Our women’s contributions are integral to our Singapore Story, and this year, we will look back at the progress of our women. We will also celebrate how they have shaped our homes, schools, workplaces and communities – improving every aspect of our society.

We also want to recognise the men who have addressed societal stereotypes through their active role in supporting and uplifting our women.

Join us by taking part in the Conversations on Singapore Women’s Development (go.gov.sg/sgwomen), where you can share your aspirations for women’s progress in Singapore. We look forward to your ideas on how we can shift societal mindsets for a more inclusive society for our men and women.

You can donate food, money or even volunteer with our key partners in the Charity Food Workgroup. They provide cooked meals or food packs to beneficiaries all across Singapore, enabling them to stretch their dollar while meeting their food needs. Tap on each image to learn more about better giving! (The Charity Food Workgroup is a cross-sector workgroup set up in 2019, to bring together food support organisations, Government agencies, corporates and volunteers, to better coordinate food support and reduce food wastage.)

MSF wishes you and your family a happy Lunar New Year filled with joy and good health.

We ring in the niú 🐮 year with this digital calligraphy created by Evelyn Zoe Tian, an artist from social enterprise ArtSE, who has had a retinal detachment and struggles with vision problems till today. She is proud of being able to find hope and strength through her art.
In the second of our three-part series celebrating SG women, we meet three inspiring women who overcame odds to take on unconventional roles in marine conservation and professional boxing, and a single mother who obtained a degree and worked senior management roles, all while raising her children: https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/meet-the-sporean-women-redefining-success-on-their-own-terms

Introducing Papilionanthe SG Women, a new orchid hybrid dedicated to the continued progress, contributions and achievements of all SG Women, unveiled by President Halimah Yacob on International Women’s Day today.

The lineage of the Papilionanthe SG Women orchid can be traced back to our national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim, and has inherited its characteristics of resilience and ability to produce blooms all year-round. It will be on display at the National Orchid Garden from 9 to 12 March.

To show support and gratitude to SG women, several partners have also put together special promotions to commemorate the Year of Celebrating SG Women. Visit go.gov.sg/CelebratingSGWomen to find out more.

Happy International Women’s Day, everyone!
In this Year of Celebrating SG Women, we celebrate our women who have left a legacy and made their mark on Singapore’s history. Produced by Singapore Council of Women's Organisations, "Awesome Women of Singapore" is a children’s book featuring the stories of 160 inspirational women from the Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame, who worked hard to achieve their dreams and unlock possibilities for future generations of women and girls.

Inspire your children with their remarkable stories of Elizabeth Choy, Daisy Vaithilingam, President Halimah Yacob and more! Get a copy of the book at https://epigrambookshop.sg/collections/new-releases/products/awesome-women-of-singapore or www.swhf.sg.
