Hot off the press! The White Paper on Singapore Women’s Development has been published. Singapore women have made great progress over the years but we can do more and we want to continue to support women and men partnering each other as equals, for both to pursue their aspirations freely and to the fullest.
Feedback from nearly 6,000 Singaporeans through 160 conversations helped to shape the White Paper, which sets out the Government’s action plans in the following key areas – equality in the workplace, equality in family and in society, and protection of women against violence and harm. We have increased the amount of cash assistance for households on ComCare Short-to-Medium-Term Assistance (SMTA) and Long-Term Assistance (LTA). From August 2022, one-person households on ComCare LTA now receive $640 per month, while larger households will receive more. SMTA beneficiaries will also receive more cash assistance and support for their utility expenses.
Individuals and families in need can apply for ComCare support online via the SupportGoWhere portal. Visit go.gov.sg/smta for details in English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Those who are unable to apply online can approach their nearest Social Service Office for assistance.
